Judge Alice Nevers and Lieutenant Romance are dispatched to the forest of Rambouillet, scene of a macabre discovery. A man was murdered with a log. This is Christophe Fontaine, marketing director at Galactik, a company specializing in the search for new tastes for soft drinks. Guided by Jean-Luc Alençon, the CEO of Galactik, uncle of the victim, Alice Nevers and Romance discover that Fontaine was a solitary man whose odious character was not unanimous. The latest enmity: his altercation, on the day of his death, with Gabrielle Soyer, a biologist he had been harassing for months over professional disagreements.
