Undertaker Mr Thorpe puts Jack on his list of part-time pallbearers, telling him that his natural lugubrious is wonderful. Rita is surprised to hear that Representative Ted Sullivan is retiring. Deirdre tells Ken that she's only putting up with him under sufferance. He is stunned.
