A very low Nick is facing his 50th birthday and not looking forward to it. He decides to make a journey by horseback up a mountain to visit an old Indian chief. The symbolic struggle up and down the mountain culminates in an expression of joy when Nick discovers that he still has plenty of zest for life in him.
