Saburo, an average high school student, is catapulted through time and space to the period of Warring States, where he agrees to live as his lookalike and historical samurai warlord, Oda Nobunaga. The elder Azai is willing to form an alliance with the Oda clan, but only if Ichi, Nobunaga's sister, will marry his son. Saburo has promised Tsuneoki that he'll leave the castle and quit impersonating Nobunaga after the war with Azai is over. Saburo tries to arrange a truce with the Nagamasa, his would-be brother-in-law and the man he once called a friend, but Hideyoshi's treachery undermines the peace process and leads to a final, bloody battle between the two forces.
