Inspired with Anna Olson

Anna travels to Manila, Philippines and cooks with Chef Rob Pengson who puts a modern take on traditional Filipino cuisine. Anna takes inspiration from the ingredients and techniques that Chef Rob uses and creates some Filipino-inspired dishes in her own kitchen.

Anna meets Chef Violet Oon in Singapore where Chef Violet shares her favourite family recipes. At home Anna revisits her own family traditions, inspired by the ingredients and flavours of Singapore, and creates some new family favourites.

Anna travels to Bangkok, Thailand and meets up with Chef Ian Kittichai at his restaurant where he shares some delicate Thai dishes with complex flavours. Inspired by Chef Ian’s respect for the ingredients and techniques, Anna heads back to her kitchen where she prepares some delicious Thai-inspired dishes.

On a recent trip to Manila, Anna learns some classic Filipino dishes from celebrated chef Margarita Fores. Anna takes inspiration from the sweet and sour ingredients of the Philippines and makes her own inspired dishes back home.

Anna visits Ho Chi Minh City and meets Chef Jack Lee, who teaches her some classic Vietnamese dishes bursting with flavour and colour. When Anna returns home she is eager to share what she’s learned and creates some inspired dishes with fresh and flavourful ingredients.

Anna travels to Hong Kong where she meets up with Chef May Chow who shares some secret ingredients and shows Anna some classic Asian techniques. When Anna returns to her kitchen she takes inspiration from her trip to Hong Kong and creates her own versions of classic Asian comfort food.

Anna travels to Singapore and meets food TV host and blogger Sarah Benjamin. Together they prepare flavourful and fragrant local favourites. Anna arrives home to her own kitchen where she reinvents some of her own classic dishes, inspired by the steaming techniques and flavour infusions of Singapore.

Anna travels to Pampangna in the Philippines where she meets Chef Claude Tayag and together they prepare some classic Filipino dishes. When Anna returns home she takes inspiration Chef Claude’s use of fruit in a main and unexpected ingredients in dessert and puts a twist on sweet and savoury dishes.

Anna meets food entrepreneur and food TV host Ili Sulaiman in Kuala Lumpur where they enjoy Malaysian classic dishes. Back at home, Anna takes inspiration from her time with Ili and Anna creates some inspired comfort food for her friends and family.

Anna travels to Kuala Lumpur for the chance to catch up with old friend, Chef Wan. Together they make aromatic and flavourful Malay dishes. When Anna returns to her own kitchen she puts a Malaysian spin on some of her favourite dishes, adding ingredients and using techniques inspired by her trip to Malaysia.
