In Cobham, Paramedic Tasha and Special Inspector Kev, are called when a woman is flung from her horse. She displays symptoms of a spinal fracture and alarming internal bleeding into the pelvis. When they roll the woman onto a stretcher and assess her, they decide her injuries are time critical and she needs to urgently be transported by Air Ambulance to hospital.
Paramedic Mark and Police Constable Calum respond to a collision between a 17-year-old car driver and a 13-year-old E-scooter rider, who has a suspected fractured ankle. Paramedic Chelsea and Special Constable Robbie are in action during a welfare check on a man they discover on his kitchen floor in a pool of blood. He says he is the victim of a hit-and-run car incident, but treatment of his head injury reveals what might be an altogether different story.
The latest annual figures reveal, almost 6,500 people were killed or injured on UK roads in accidents involving a drunk driver. Police Constable Ben, accompanied by Special Constable Clive, and Paramedic Mark, chase down a motorist suspected of being intoxicated, who's just fled the scene of a collision. When the JRU team catch up with the man, they find a half empty bottle of vodka in his car. The driver fails his breath test, blowing almost four times over the legal drink drive limit.
