Hang gliding crossings

In the series we will follow a sequence of 11 team flights, with 100 to 200km of free distance - or more - at each stage, using only the wind and thermal currents. The expedition will depart from Bahia and pass through other locations in the northeast.

The team continues in Bahia. After a local flight in Conceição da Feira, the expedition arrives in Santa Terezinha, one of the most classic peaks of free flight in the Northeast. There is great anticipation around the second flight of the expedition.

After completing a 200km flight to the feet of Chapada Diamantina, the hang gliding team formed by Beto Schmitz, Marcelo Abbott and Alipio Loyola is now in Jacobina, in Chapada Norte, still in Bahia.

The team wakes up in Xique-Xique, Bahia, recalling the best moments of the previous day, when they made a record flight departing from Jacobina, in Chapada Norte, and landing on the banks of the São Francisco River and proceed to Tanque d'Arca, in Alagoas.

The expedition reaches the state of Pernambuco. The flyer locates Marcos "Shampoo" welcomes the pilots. After a quick analysis of the takeoff options, they decide to visit Rampa do Pepê, in Taquaritinga do Norte.

With the arrival in the state of Paraíba, the free flight expedition enters the region of great distances from the hinterland, due to the drier climate and stronger and constant winds.

There was great expectation for the flight from Tacima, in Paraíba, the seventh takeoff point of the expedition. On the border between Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte, the place has recently become one of the most sought after points for long distance flights.

Back in Patu after a day of great fun on the coastal flight at Ponta do Mel, Beto Schmitz, Alipio Loyola and Marcelo Abbott are preparing for another flight away, with the help of host José Ferreira and Marina Godoy, the team's rescue.

Quixadá is the "Mecca" of the free flight of the Northeast, since for many years it was the place of great distance records and even today it receives hundreds of pilots from all over the world during the best season.
