Christmas is coming and the thick blanket of snow and ice has turned Dublin Zoo into a winter wonderland. But with temperatures dropping to a record low the zookeepers are getting to grips with the most severe winter of a generation. It's a race against time as the zookeepers battle the elements to keeps over 600 exotic animals warm, safe and protected from the worsening conditions. There's also plenty of Christmas fun in this exciting hour long special episode featuring all of your favourite animals and keepers and a whole lot more.

It’s Christmas at The Zoo, and narrator Tom Dunne is getting his skates on to join the zookeepers for a well earned day out at the ice-rink after another busy year taking care of the animals at Dublin Zoo. Dublin Zoo experienced something of a baby boom this year, with a whole host of new arrivals, from Saki monkeys and hornbills to clumsy rhino calves and wide eyed red ruff lemur pups. We’ll be looking back at all of the best stories from the year and finding out what’s been happening with your favourite animals ever since, and getting a sneak peek at some of the latest arrivals at Dublin Zoo, including two adorable lion cub cousins and a playful gang who have been making a big impact ever since they arrived, Dublin Zoo’s very own family of three baby elephants. In this special hour long festive episode he’ll be listening to their personal highlights from the year gone by, finding out how all the animals have been getting on since you last saw them, and as always, there will be a plenty of Christmas fun and a few surprises in store for you too.
