The Laughter Show

The Laughter Show returns to BBC1 with a brand-new summer series of fast-moving comedy and music, starring the multi-talented popular impressionist Les Dennis, who is strongly supported by Martin P. Daniels and Lisa Maxwell. Les's special guest is Joe Longthorne whose vocal technique will delight and amaze when he does his impressions of popular entertainers. There are further laughs from young new comic Shane Richie.

Guest star Joe Longthome featuring Martin P. Daniels with Lisa Maxwell guest comics The 2 Marks and the Jeff Richer Dancers also appearing Bella Emberg. More hilarious frolics as Les shows off his great versatility in another fun-packed show. Les and Joe wreak havoc in a home for retired game show hosts and Les goes back to his childhood in One Man and His Wife.

In the Laughter Show this week Les as Crocodile Dundee finds that he has a linguistic problem with his doctor. Muriel Gray interviews heavy metal personality David Lee How Gross, and Joe Longthorne dons the character of Harry Cluttercrutch, alias Elvis, in search of a backing group of famous personalities. Wayne Dobson finds a comic magical touch to add to the proceedings.

Moonlighting is one of the attractions of this week's show when Les impersonates Bruce Willis in a spoof of the popular TV series. Fiona Filofax brings you up to date on the Yuppie scene and Frank Spencer reveals a secret when he assumes the role of Phantom Frank. Richard Digance brings you his own unique brand of comedy.

Comedian Mike Reid joins Les as they portray two characters in a hilarious send-up of the popular TV series Big Deal. Les pays a return visit to Children's offers more strange delights. A feast of stunning singing impressions is in store as Joe goes 'country and western'. While Parky and Harty find time for a little song and dance. The guest comedian this week is the zany, popular, young entertainer Billy Pearce

For the final show of the present series Les and Lisa become royal presenters of Blue Peter , Dirty Den finds a few choice words about the goings-on in Albert Square and Esther Rantzen meets a policeman with a singing dog. Joe Longthorne gives you some of his most popular impressions including Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones.
