The Gypsies Next Door

Carol and her family cannot understand why her community is so hated and vilified, while local man Arthur is on a mission to understand what brings the travellers into parks and public areas - and Carol's caravan is his first stop. Johnny and his family live in a chalet in Essex but his non-traveller wife Andrea has had enough of feeling ostracised and wants to move back into a normal house.

Gypsy Bill has fallen out with his neighbours in Kent, so he organises a charity event to promote a more positive image of his people. Traveller Georgia, settled with her own beauty business, realises she will need help from her family, and Warwickshire resident Jo sets out to find evidence of animal cruelty in traveller camps.

Traveller Tony dreams of a new life for his family so he has set up a sunbed business with millionaire non-traveller Colin. However, the neighbours have got a court order to prevent him setting up the company. Margaret, a single mother of seven, just needs a roof over her head after being evicted, while Simey Connors prepares a grand funeral for his brother Mikey, a legend in the traveller community.

Barry is in a battle with the council - they want him to move into new housing purpose built for Travellers across the road from his site, but they won't allow him to take his horses. Tensions are so heated that locals are turning vigilante, and other houses designated specifically for Travellers have even been vandalised.
