The Black Tapes

In the first episode of The Black Tapes, our host, Alex Reagan, enters the strange world of paranormal investigation and encounters the enigmatic Dr. Richard Strand: a ghost hunter who doesn't believe in ghosts. We follow Alex as she attempts to unlock both the secrets of Strand's collection of mysterious black VHS cases, and the dark and mysterious past of the enigmatic man himself. This is The Black Tapes. In the second part of the inaugural episode of The Black Tapes, Alex travels to San Francisco with Dr. Strand to dig further into one of his mysterious Black Tapes cases. But she soon discovers, Strand has secrets that extend far beyond The Black Tapes themselves.

The mystery of Dr. Strand's past becomes murkier as Alex joins him in a Black Tapes case centered on a musician's suicide and the possible discovery of a sound that is rumored to have been created by Lucifer himself.

A grisly murder launches a macabre festival, and Alex and Dr. Strand must work together to try and connect the dots of a strange small town's dark history. At the same time, Alex begins to question whether or not she can really trust the man behind these mysterious Black Tapes.

If you believe in the existence of the devil in any way, then you might want to avoid this episode as Alex and Dr. Strand lift the veil on the Church's most disturbing exorcism, and discover not only dark voices from below, but a familiar voice from Strand's past.

Alex enlists the help of a well-known psychic as the abduction of Sebastien Torres leads her deep into the woods, and deeper into Dr. Strand's mysterious past.

As we sink deeper into the mystery swirling around Dr. Strand’s missing wife, a familiar voice reaches out to Alex from the other side of the globe.

As she digs deeper into the background of Brother Percival Black, Alex uncovers an ancient monastic order, and yet another layer is added to the mystery of Coralee Strand's disappearance.

Alex’s faith in Dr. Strand is tested as another piece of his past unravels, and her search into the Order of the Ceonophus uncovers a dark origin

In the season one finale, Alex connects the dots from Europe to New Mexico and begins to suspect she might be in over her head with Dr. Strand and his Black Tapes
