From their first garage-psych albums, Wand has continued to grow in new and surprising ways – both in sound and scope. Their universally-acclaimed newest album, Vertigo, came out of hours of recorded jams that were gradually built upon and honed into densely textured, guitar-driven soundscapes. And they totally shred.

New York’s Nation of Language infectious synth-driven dance-pop is at once familiar and completely new. Recalling sounds decades-old to much more recent influences, their three albums each have varied sonic approaches denoting different types of movement, all tied together by a common sense of tender longing and grateful acceptance.

As frenetic as METZ’ taut, propulsive noise rock has been over their career, their sound has always constantly evolved and grown in its scope and layers. Their most recent album, Up on Gravity Hill, breaks new ground for the band musically and lyrically, zeroing in on human connection. METZ recently announced their indefinite hiatus, and we’re so pleased we’re able to preserve this excellent show.
