Gordon Chow, proprietor of the Liquor & Laundromat in Frank, Alberta, has a stroke. His adult children return to a home they wish they could forget.

Stuck at home in the snowstorm, Loretta and Henry are forced to recount the trauma that lingers in their family home. They retreat to the comfort of the friends they left behind.

Cornered about her broken marriage by her children, Diana retreats to the church and reminisces over her close friendship with a minister-in-training.

Gordon wakes up and rushes to reopen the Liquor & Laundromat. He is forced to confront the truth that he has denied for three decades; his dreams for him and his family to have a good life have failed.

At a young age, Loretta and Henry realize they have to fend for themselves because their parents have given up.

Gordon decides to reconcile with the sins of his past to save his family’s future.
