Charlie’s Angel is a Western restaurant that aims to make customers happy through its signature specialties. Meijiao (Angel) set it up with her husband, Charlie, after they returned from their overseas studies.

Yu Nan feels bad when Mingjun is beaten up by Simon. Lisa’s spending habits cause an upheaval in the Wang family.

Mike is upset Cai Shi ruins his relationships time and again. Lisa wants to break up with Ken, who is nothing but a loafer. Yu Nan gives her the cake with the ring in it by mistake.

Yu Nan realises how lucky she is after learning about Mingjun’s background. Moved by his determination, she decides not to neglect her duty to her family either. She tells Feifei and Meijiao she will manage the restaurant. They are overjoyed.

Business at the restaurant improves. Feeling threatened by Mingjun, Chef Xu pretends his arm hurts. Feifei takes a one-day break to pacify him, but he is still unhappy. Yu Nan is sad when Lisa goes on a date with Mike.

Yu Nan suspects Mingjun is out to get hold of her grandfather’s recipes. Lisa is now dating Mike. She often drags Yu Nan along on their outings. Yu Nan is disheartened at how close Mike and Lisa have become.

Yu Nan makes a congee dish using her grandfather’s recipe. Meijiao criticizes her cooking. Upset, she issues Mingjun a challenge. To her surprise, he is able to make the same dish taste delicious.

Yu Nan wakes up early to whip up a Western breakfast for Meijiao. To her dismay, Meijiao asks for Mingjun’s congee instead. Mike wakes up to find himself in Lisa’s living room. She has even helped him change his clothes.

Yu Nan tells Feifei she suspects Mingjun is a spy, having seen him with people from M&B. Feifei brushes her off as being too sensitive. When Mingjun reveals Danger is his friend, Yu Nan wonders about his gender preferences.

Yu Nan suspects Mingjun is stealing recipes again, but he is merely cooking noodles for supper. She asks for a portion. Back home, she learns from her grandfather’s recipe book how prawns can be even tastier.

Unexpectedly, Yu Nan is one of the competition’s finalists. Even though Feifei and Meijiao assert that they will have to close down the restaurant if the rental problem is not solved, Yu Nan refuses to give up.

Yu Nan chases Mingjun with a chopper for exposing her secret. She relates how her sympathy for Mike had turned to admiration and a series of misunderstandings had caused her to be mistaken about his feelings for her.

On the morning of Mother’s Day, Feifei opens Yu Nan’s door and finds Lisa sleeping on the bed. Yu Nan has spent the night preparing cookies for Lisa, to help her get Cai Shi’s approval. .. show full overview

Reminding Mingjun of his obligations, Danger forces him to stop Charlie’s Angel from taking part in the competition. Feifei is not in the restaurant, and Meijiao suspects she is out on a date with Cai Shi.

Mingjun receives a desperate call from his sister who is overseas, and tries hard to gather funds to help her. Yet again, Meijiao mistakes him for Charlie. Muyin insists on carrying on with the divorce proceedings.

Yu Nan goes through the notebook in which Mingjun had copied the recipes and realizes he really has fallen for her. She is both angry about his betrayal and moved by his love. Feifei sees Yu Nan crying and learns she had swapped the notebook.

Mingjun feels ashamed when Simon and Yu Nan help him get rid of the attackers. Yu Nan admits she has fallen for him and knows she has done him wrong regarding the recipes. She wants him to return to Charlie’s Angel, as the restaurant has been closed.

Chef Xu starts on the dish alone, and Danger is jubilant. He is sure Charlie’s Angel will not be able to complete their dish. Unexpectedly, Mingjun turns up with the fish head curry.

Meijiao and Chef Xu approve of Yu Nan’s relationship with Mingjun. Meijiao misses Charlie and often reminisces about their past. Yu Nan is disturbed that Simon keeps pestering her. Feifei confides in Cai Shi.

Mingjun returns to the kitchen in a bad mood after quarreling with Yu Nan. He tells Feifei that Simon has arrived. Simon invites Yu Nan to his parent’s wedding anniversary party.

Mingjun whips up a farewell meal for everyone on his last day. Feifei tells Guodong she sympathizes with Coco, and hopes he will let her carry on her business. He gloats over her plight and reveals the shop space is now in Muyin’s name.

Cai Shi makes Lisa witness Mike and Yu Nan dining together and tells her Yu Nan is the one Mike truly likes. Lisa leaves in misery, without realizing Mike has been waiting for her. Lisa tells Guodong that Mike is dating Yu Nan on the sly.

Feifei rushes Coco to the hospital. Glad her pregnancy is not at risk, Coco makes plans to leave after her baby is born. Yu Nan learns Cai Shi has been hospitalized with acute pneumonia. She calls Mike, who presumes his father is again up to tricks.

The book signing event complements the restaurant’s anniversary celebrations. Even Tracy turns up to give her support. Simon reveals that most of the guests are their employees, who were given half a day off work.

Muyin announces that she will extend the lease for Charlie’s Angel and become a shareholder in the business. Chef Xu and Mingjun are overjoyed. A despondent Yu Nan tells Mingjun she has met Yazi. He tries in vain to explain the situation.
