Sounds of Eden

Some of Deacon Blue's classic tracks are featured in tonight's specially staged concert from Eden Court, Inverness.

'We were determined to squeeze the Apple dry,' says Gregory Kane. Musically speaking, that's exactly what he did, together with his brother Patrick. The result was their latest top-selling album Remote, written in Glasgow and realised in New York with the help of some of the world's top session musicians. It's Hue and Cry's proud boast that they are one of the few bands who can also deliver that brilliant sound live on stage - a boast they fulfil tonight together with young sax player Tommy Smith and an 11-piece band. Included in the set are the tracks Looking for Linda, Violently, and a haunting version of The Man with the Child in His Eyes.

Fans of Love and Money have always been aware of their enormous potential as multi-talented musicians. James Grant has been acclaimed as a songwriter of the first order but the band has not as yet achieved the success which many music critics feel they deserve. Tonight's concert from Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, confirms the band's ability to deliver an exciting live set, including Hallelujah Man, Jocelyn Square and Up Escalator.

Winners of the best album and best band categories at this year's Brit Awards. Fairground Attraction take the stage of Glasgow's Pavilion Theatre with a rousing set from their album The First of a Million Kisses, including the international number one Perfect.

Tonight the final show from Eden Court Theatre in Inverness features some of the musical highlights from the series, including songs from those often unsung heroes, the support bands. Deacon Blue, Hue and Cry, Roachford and Love and Money rub shoulders with Goodbye Mr Mackenzie , Diesel Park West and the Kevin McDermott Orchestra.
