The Austrian empire has withstood the 1848 uprising, but tensions remain. However, the young Emperor Franz Joseph has something else on his mind: love. Although his mother wants to associate him with the Bavarian princess Helene, it is Helene's younger sister Elisabeth, nicknamed Sisi, that makes him crazy.
