Schlitz Playhouse of Stars

George Slattery is being ridden hard by his parole officer since getting out of jail for murder. He's fallen for a nice woman in the neighborhood, but a small-time gangster thinks she belongs with him. The constant harassment by the thug and his goons is testing George's ability to keep his fists in check and himself out of prison.

A widow with a gambling problem owes everyone money, including the landlord who's wanting to evict her. She desperately wants to buy a pricey birthday gift for for her young son, who lives with disapproving relatives. If only she could have a little luck.

A wife finds a letter in the pocket of her suave husband and learns he's been seeing a young woman. She suspects he's been cheating, but he says she's the daughter of an friend and simply reminds him of his youth. The wife decides to get to the bottom of it all by having the "chick" join them for dinner.

While her husband is away on a business trip, a lonely housewife becomes infatuated with another man. When he threatens her with exposure unless she gives him a large sum of money, she searches frantically for a solution to her problem.

A poor Frenchman (Vincent Price) is mistaken upon his arrival in England for another man from France expected to arrive at that time. He is brought to the home of Mr. Smith, an apparently wealthy art connoisseur, and his lovely daughter (Valerie French). He soon finds out that both Mr. Smith and the expected Frenchman (Jonathan Harris) are involved in a scheme to sell a fake Corot painting.
