Reality TV contests love to sell you the idea that the road to stardom is simplistic and smooth, they use the commonly established narrative of rags to riches and turn real people into stories, they utilize the backstories and pain of the contestants and turn them into a tool to turn them into a character. They sells the idea that fame and success is guaranteed upon winning, but on most occasions this isn't the case. For every Carrie Underwood or Harry Styles, there's dozens of names we've forgotten, and shows like American Idol, X Factor, America's Got Talent and others are more than fine with that happening. Facebook has an extraordinary amount of influence and power in the modern world, enough to sway elections in numerous countries. It also has become an extremely effective tool for external sources to manipulate users into believing lies and fake news to push their agendas. News outlets such as Fox News, OAN and various conservative right wing outlets have become prominent on Facebook, along with right wing figures such as Ben Shapiro and his site, The Daily Wire. Boomers are a generation that have become especially vulnerable to the echo chamber created in social networks like Facebook, due to the repetitive nature of how information in distributed, and how algorithms feed upon outrage. As a result, many have been radicalized by constant exposure to lies, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has no interest in fixing the most efficient propaganda machine ever created.

In the past few years, influencers across platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Instragram have become incredibly popular, and there's no sign that they're going away anytime soon. Whether it's fun creators like Logan Paul, MrBeast, and Lele Pons, beauty influencers like James Charles, Kylie Jenner and Huda Kattan, or even general lifestyle vloggers, they have millions of followers and legions of devoted fans. The parasocial relationship between creator and audience has had some unhealthy effects though, where someone's desire for wealth, status and companionship is exploited by corporations and marketing, turning influencers into yet another way to sell people products, and by extension a happier life - one which may never be attainable for most.

This time we're going to look at the reason why right wing men are so sad, and have been put in a position where they feel the need to constantly feed on misery in order to explain how they feel about the world. We'll also learn how these feelings are manipulated by various outlets like the media and the internet, to radicalise them, turning them against progress in the belief that it works in opposition to men and masculinity.

In this video, we explore how the male dominated news media has changed over the years to become more inclusive by introducing women and other marginalised groups into it. As the medium has transformed though, it's become ever more apparent that women in particular have started to be used by news networks like Fox News and OAN, to promote ideas which work in opposition to the interests of women. We'll also be exploring new news media, such as streamers, podcasters and influencers, who have borrowed heavily from the playbook of traditional network news, creating a broad, worldwide network that weaponizes women that can appeal to a younger generation of people who harbor right wing beliefs, many of which have become far more extreme than what can be found on television.

Younger generations have become enamoured with nostalgia in the past few years, from movies, TV shows, video games, and even romanticising the past. As a result though, we seemed to have lost sight of the future in the process, leading to cultural stagnation, and I would argue that our ongoing love affair with the past has become symbolic of our fears of the future, to the point where we've become incapable of envisioning a better world, leading us to constantly desire revisiting past portrayals of the future, and hide from what's ahead.

Because of this, it's no surprise that many of us are always looking out for other ways to earn money, while taking the advice of billionaires like Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and more, to find out the alleged secret of their success, trying to figure out what they could do to live a comfortable life like them. This has led to people believing that working excessively, making risky investments, and giving up your free time to grind, will eventually result in them achieving success, and will elevate them beyond their peers. The wealthiest people in the world have tricked young and desperate people into thinking that their work ethic is the problem, and not the system they're in; here's how and why they do it.

The idea of being an alpha male has been growing in popularity for years now, and gained even more traction on the internet in the 2010s. More recently, the "Sigma male" came into existence, seemingly out of nowhere, but according to the groups that subscribe to the ideas of male hierarchies, it's always been a thing, just exceedingly rare, but equally desirable to the alpha male. I would argue that much like the idea of alpha males, beta males, etc; sigma males are just another way of placing men in categories while ignoring their own needs and desires. Its creation also offered a way for men who aspired to be alpha, to be granted an easier to attain high status, due to their inability and possibly unwillingness to change.

From the very beginning of America's history, violence has informed the attitudes, opinions and tastes of its citizens, many of which value it above compassion. As such, much of the media they produce and consume is designed from the ground up to promote fear of the "other", and they express how force is the most expedient and effective method of achieving a positive outcome. From America's news networks, to its multi-billion dollar grossing films, the idea of overcoming "evil" in the world has spread at a disturbing rate, all the while, these same media outlets admonish diplomacy, intimacy and love.

Commercialism, the stress of buying gifts, making sure everything goes right, being alone or being surrounded by those who make you feel alone. There are many reason why people find the holidays the most miserable time of year, and I want to share my experiences, and explain to you why I and many, many others dread this capitalist nightmare.
