Reno, Set, Go!

Chef Murray works long hard hours, and when he gets home he likes to decompress, but when his 25-year-old brother in law Tristram came looking for a place to crash, Murray and Tamarah welcomed him with open arms. Four months later Tristram is still there, and Murray is feeling displaced in his own home. Along with Tamarah’s help, Tristram wants to show Murray his appreciation by remodeling the master bedroom and giving Murray back a little piece of privacy; to once again feel like the King of his castle.

When Charles & Marie’s son Ashton was born with a rare condition that puts his life in danger daily, this happy family of four’s life was turned upside down. Marie, the family’s tower of strength, became her son’s health advocate and cheerleader all while getting her doctorate at school. They tried to make the best of the chaos that had become their dysfunctional living space, but with both kids getting bigger this family is in need of a professional intervention. Hubby Charles wants to show his ‘irrepressible wife’ his appreciation with a surprise makeover of their main floor.

After declaring bankruptcy a couple years ago, free spirits Drew & Lori moved out to the ‘burbs’ with their four-year-old son Phoenix. Not long after, Drew was laid off from his job and one month later their basement flooded. Lori was forced to end her maternity leave early and go back to work just to keep the roof over their heads. Kyle and Cindy are about to become parents for a second time, but getting there hasn’t been easy. Fertility issues had them seeking out specialists and costly treatments; it’s left them no money to renovate their suburban home. Cindy’s impending maternity leave is quickly approaching and Kyle would love to surprise her with a functional living room and play space where she can entertain, relax and have fun with the whole family.

Richard & Helen, are loving parents to two young special needs kids. This two-income family was quickly reduced to one-income when Helen had to quit her job to take care of the kids. For years Richard has wanted to reno his ‘hazard zone’ of a basement into a family friendly space, but financially, it just hasn’t been possible. Helen wants to surprise Richard with a complete remodel of the basement thanking him for being such a great Dad, and alleviating any of the stress and guilt he may feel about not getting it done sooner.

After adopting 7-year-old daughter Eryka last year, Cort and Nicole were delighted to find out they were pregnant. But when baby Jack made an appearance 4 months early, they were caught off guard and unprepared. Nicole had to quit her job and now spends 12-14 hours a day in the neonatal intensive care unit with the baby. Cort wants to take the weight off Nicole’s shoulders by surprising her with a custom designed nursery room, for her and Jack.

While hubby David underwent Cancer treatments, Stephanie was his rock, cheerleader and nurse maid, all while keeping a roof over their heads and looking after infant twins. But now the one-year-old twins have taken over the living and dining room and there’s no place left for either living or dining. David wants to surprise his ‘superhero’ wife with a new functional living & dining room where the entire family can celebrate the future and make memories that will last a lifetime.

As much as Stan loves his foster pets rescued by animal advocate Melissa, sleeping with four dogs, a cat and a toddler in the master bedroom doesn't make for a good night's sleep.

Sarah his wife wants to show her appreciation for her hardworking selfless husband, and renovate their dysfunctional living space into a safe family zone where they can all chill together as a family.

Luis is a hardworking HVAC technician who shares a very special bond with his 4-year-old daughter. Because of his daughter’s speech disorder, Luis works extra shifts to afford her weekly therapy lessons. His little down time is spent working with Eva in their current makeshift play space. Wife Robin is grateful for all Luis’ hard work and would love to give him a special ‘Daddy & Me room’ where the entire family can relax and focus on Eva’s continued progress.

After losing her husband and father of her three young children to a car accident, Ashley took life by the horns and ‘stepped up’ big time. With no life insurance, keeping a roof over their heads was tough. She relocated to be closer to family - got a part time job and scraped together enough money to buy a ‘starter home. Unfortunately, her dysfunctional living & dining room is not working for her three active toddlers. Ashley’s sisters want to surprise her with a complete remodel to express their love and admiration for the strongest person they know.

Sue and Glen Bradbury are super stars of the Foster World. In 25 years they have fostered over 50 children, in addition to having four of their own, and adopting two of their fosters. Many of their past fosters say they owe their lives to Sue and Glen’s generous open hearts. In appreciation the entire family is working together ‘on the sly’ to surprise them with a renovation of three of the ‘most tired’ rooms in their home.
