Didi, alias Dieter Hallervorden, makes his way through his winter vacation in a goofy, blackly humorous and mischievous way. He has a “terrible” experience with a young princess and her bulky luggage, knocks an extremely valuable vase off its pedestal, is pursued by a jealous husband and ends up in a strange bedroom. He can already hear footsteps and voices approaching ...

Didi moves to the 4th floor of a new building. Unfortunately, he overlooks the fact that the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor. His furniture is still on the street and is promptly mistaken for bulky garbage. In all the confusion, he also manages to disrupt a theater performance.

Didi, that's Dieter Hallervorden, the hero of a crazy story in five scenes that runs through the show at intervals. In it, Didi is involved - unintentionally, of course - in a bank burglary. Viewers also see the comedian at the lost and found office, at the airport and buying a car. But at none of these “stations” does the poor guy really get his chance. On the contrary!

After a rich marriage, Didi, alias Dieter Hallervorden, immediately becomes a straw widower: the newlywed floats away in her own plane. But Didi is not discouraged. He plays “a few holes of golf” and goes for a drink in a bar. The parents-in-law are also “delighted” with Didi: Mom discovers a strange woman in Didi's bed, and he screws up a business deal for Dad ...

This time Didi has gone to the Wild West. As a butterfly hunter, he doesn't just catch colorful butterflies. He also comes into possession of a valuable diamond - in which the notorious gangster One-Eye shows a keen interest. The cunning Didi sees his salvation above all in escape. His motto: the weaker one gives in. He believes the best way to “retreat” is in the clothes of a saloon lady.

Didi has very little interest in sport. Unfortunately, he looks very much like a ball star who has just been called up to the German national team. Foreign backers who want to manipulate the game put Didi under hypnosis. He wakes up in the German goal. And without intending to, he has a decisive influence on the game ...

Didi is doubly lucky: he is chosen by a magazine to be the ideal double of actor Dieter von Hallerofen, and he wins the chance to play a small role in the shadow of the same star in a race. Bad things happen to him on the way to the studio. For example, he breaks through the canteen roof and ends up between noodles in a giant kettle. But later he finds the Hallerofen studio and nothing stands in the way of Didi's artistic rise.

Didi, alias Dieter Hallervorden, has big plans as a private detective: In the Brockemann divorce case, he has to obtain compromising photos of the wife. This is not easy. Especially because he also has to play babysitter, as his wife is expecting another baby at the clinic. But if you know Didi, he can handle the most difficult situations - even child abduction and blackmail - with ease.

While sunbathing on the deck of a passenger ship, Didi and a sun worshipper quickly become close. Otherwise, Didi, who is supposed to be guarding a precious diamond clip, lives dangerously. Naturally, the expensive piece goes missing. During the search, Didi comes across a deeply decollete lady, unnerving the stewards and the passengers.

Didi earns his money - not a lot of it - as a gigolo in a bar. When he meets the beautiful, rich Marlies, he fibs to her that he is also rich. A house concert at her parents', the Haferkamps, provides an opportunity to introduce Didi to them. But the Haferkamps' father remembers seeing the young man in action. As a result, the house concert goes rather awry.

Didi is lucky: he wins a bag of change from the slot machine in his local pub. But when a crook persuades him to go into big business in a gambling den, he is ruined. Now Didi wants to make the big cut at the horse races. And he actually manages to be the first horse to appear in the finishing photo. Didi wins 8000 marks.

Didi the Beardless, alias Dieter Hallervorden, finds his dad Lodewig's gambling addiction to be “blowing up”. He has lost the castle to knight Kunibert. Now Didi has to deal with the knight, his little daughter Sieglinde and the castle ghost.

Starting today, Didi alias Dieter Hallervorden wants to strain the audience's laugh muscles again. As a cab driver, he is supposed to take a completely distraught Mr. Klupitzke into the forest. There he starts to attach a rope to a branch. This makes Didi realize something: Klupitzke obviously wants to end his life because his wife is cheating on him. Didi tries to stop him.

Gangster boss Napoleon has framed Didi for the theft of the Sandfort diamonds. To prove his innocence, Didi has to break out of prison and find the stolen diamonds. Of course, this is not without its difficulties. On his escape, Didi accidentally ends up in Napoleon's villa. There he meets Lisette, who - involuntarily - puts him on the trail of the diamonds. But before Didi can do anything, the gangsters get the loot out of the house ...

Didi watches from the patrol car as a staggering man and a woman get into their car. Didi forbids him to drive. His wife should take the wheel. She obeys - and thunders into the police car. Didi scowls: “Is she drunk too?” The man replies: “No, but she doesn't have a driver's license”.

Didi wants to win a caravan rally - a race in which anyone who causes damage to a field is disqualified. Didi therefore has to make a forester who saw him sawing off a branch “disappear” in a hurry.

Didi steps in as a temporary waiter. In an unusually amiable manner, he recommends the hotel's own wine to a guest. As a gas station attendant, Didi doesn't find it difficult to make his customers happy. The fact that petrol hoses go wild, car tires explode and a sports car drills through the roof with the help of a lifting platform - this does nothing to dampen Didi's tireless enthusiasm. The multi-talented man is particularly successful with women as secret agent 4712, as a television technician and as a hairdresser. The ladies are enraptured when he creates particularly long-lasting hairstyles with the help of a special hair fixer.

Didi will have many sympathetic viewers this time. Because anyone who has ever put their own hands on a house and walls - for the purpose of embellishment - will recognize their painstaking efforts in the do-it-yourself handyman Dieter Hallervorden. To the chagrin of the builders, Didi intervenes vigorously in the extension of his own house, usually at the wrong time. But the future homeowner fights bravely against the pitfalls of almost every project.
