One day, An runs into Takumi, the ex-husband of the woman whom her husband, Shingo, ran away with. To her astonishment, Takumi tells her he thinks he saw Shingo recently while visiting a small island off the coast of Okinawa. Meanwhile, Yuko becomes flustered when she and her younger co-worker, Go, get stuck alone in an elevator during a power outage. Seeing his normally calm boss lose her composure, Go’s passions are aroused. At the same time, Mari is left feeling breathless after being suddenly kissed by the flamboyant Marutaro, who had been aggressively courting her affections. What does fate have in store for these three beautiful women with their complicated and secret lives?

An travels to Okinawa to meet her husband, Shingo, whom she hasn’t seen in 11 years. Though he’s changed, his voice reminds An of happier times and she’s unable to hold back tears. Shingo, who has amnesia, shows her around the island, believing she’s just another tourist.
At that moment, Yuko is in Kyoto with Go for a new product launch. But no sooner have the guests all arrived than the power suddenly goes out, and Yuko decides to cancel the event. Later that night, Yuko and Go find themselves in another unexpected situation.
Meanwhile, Mari receives an audio file via email. It turns out to a conversation between her husband and a young woman with whom he’s having an affair. Mari consults Marutaro about it, then decides to confront her husband’s lover in person.

Yuko’s husband, Shigeo, tells her “enough is enough” after seeing her and Go together. Then he announces he’s planning to return home to Yoronjima to start his own school, taking their son with him.
Meanwhile, An is worried about her own son, Ken, who hasn’t returned home since finding out that Takumi was married to his father’s lover. An tells Takumi she thinks they should stop seeing each another until Ken gets his feelings sorted out.
As for Mari, after spending the night at a hot spring resort with Marutaro, she feels guilty when her husband, Shigeki, apologizes to her for having an affair. But when he’s chosen to be featured on a TV special about top lawyers, his obsession with the cameras, even at his children’s expense, raises Mari’s suspicions.

After an accident leaves An stuck using a cane to get around, she and her son, Ken, are forced to move in with her ex-mother-in-law, Ayako. But her ex-husband, Shingo, has also moved back in with his mother, and things get awkward when Takumi finds out. Meanwhile, Yuko, now living alone, is struggling to adapt to her new role at the company’s sales office in Chiba, a huge change from her corporate PR job. An overbearing client and other unpleasant surprises show her just how difficult sales work is. And Mari gets fed up with her husband’s arrogant attitude toward their son, Shigeaki, whose ambition is to become a comic storyteller. But when she consults Marutaro about the matter, she doesn’t get the reply she was expecting…

It’s been one month since Takumi broke up with An. Her son, Ken, is worried about her and has started going back and forth between her place and his father’s, which makes An feel sad. Meanwhile, Mari’s husband, Shigeki, becomes embroiled in a scandal involving the embezzlement of political funds and is disciplined by the bar association. His clients desert him, but he remains defiant despite losing everything, and Mari takes a part-time job in a bento shop to make ends meet. And Yuko is still slogging away at her company’s sales office in Chiba, trying to drum up new clients. Though her hard work is slowly paying off, the future looks uncertain. One day, she goes to Tokyo for a meeting at company headquarters and finds Go waiting for her when she leaves.
An and Takumi get married. The happy couple begins a new life, together with the dog An always dreamed of having. And Mari starts an exciting career as a model for a shopping channel.

Although her husband, Shigeki, now sees her in a whole new light, she has eyes only for Marutaro. Meanwhile, Yuko’s job in Chiba is going well. One day she hears from Shigeo that he’s writing a new novel. Overjoyed, she calls him in Yoronjima and talks to her son for the first time in ages. Though the conversation is awkward, she feels closer to Daisuke and they promise to meet for New Year’s.

Meanwhile, Mari decides to initiate divorce proceedings once Shigeki passes his accountancy exam and gets back on his feet, but they can’t agree on a settlement. Mari begins to worry that Marutaro, whom she hasn’t seen for a while, has lost interest in her. A few months later, when Yuko receives a big promotion, Shigeo is the first person she tells. He’s delighted for her and promises to come to Tokyo to celebrate. At the same time, she learns that Go is getting married. Will all three women at last find true happiness?
