Their first case takes our lady detectives into the world of German Schlager pop music. During rehearsals for the show "The Music Plays Here", Toni, one of the local celebs from duo Toni & Tina, was found behind the scenes, bludgeoned to death. His wife and singing partner Tina is desperate, for his manager of many years Rollo it's like he's lost a son. It's hard to imagine a ruthless murder in this folksy pop world, which represents the last bastion of a whilesome world to many of its fans. While the investigation turns up more and more people to stand to benefit from the singer's death, young police rookie Maria discovers the decisive clue, putting herself in grave danger.

Good people die too. The popular social businessman Hans-Martin Taubert falls from a bridge and survives badly injured. The inspectors from Dresden Henni Sieland and Karin Gorniak meet three homeless witnesses who claim that Taubert was thrown off the bridge. Taubert founded the "Berberhilfe", a business that finds shelter for the homeless and other people in need. He became rich through the poor and has never concealed this fact. The three homeless witnesses claim to be Tauberts "Security"; apparently he's been frequently threatened recently. Taubert's brother Hajo becomes interesting for the inspectors as well: a lot less business-minded than his brother, Hajo borrowed money from Taubert for some shady enterprises. Regardless of brotherly love, Taubert wanted his money back. Shortly thereafter Taubert is attacked in the hospital - this time with deadly outcome.

These hoaxes are Simon's job, and have brought him significant fame and a great deal of money. While playing a prank on a local rock group, Simson is shot by an unknown attacker. Despite there being any number of people who witnessed the crime in person and live on the Internet, there are no reliable descriptions of the attacker. Detectives Henni Sieland and Karin Gorniak dive deep into the world of social media stars, where they must face the fact that they don't know a great deal about these hugely popular teenage idols or the business structures behind them. Along with avaricious managers and unscrupulous competitors, the detectives meet a doctor whose black-market trade in prescription medicines was uncovered by Simson.

Former colleague Martina Scheuring, a lawyer, now represents these people who have suffered twice and is helping them to fight for their rights with all means available to her. The investigation leads the detectives into the world of insurance, where using great pressure and dubious methods, profit is pursued above all else.

Nine-year old Rico disappears without a trace. Shortly afterwards his body is found by a group of kids in a bag on the banks of the Elbe. Dresden detectives Henni Sieland and Karin Gorniak struggle to cope with the emotional impact of such an horrific crime. The city is in uproar, the media are stoking fear, and everyone wants answers quickly. Their boss Schnabel is surprisingly emotional; he reacts sensitively to the shocking act and to criticism of the police. He publicly bemoans the data privacy laws and the restricted powers of the law enforcement agencies. Sieland and Gorniak try to keep cool heads but they have no good leads in the case. An anonymous call shifts suspicion to Rico's swimming coach Micha Siebert, who is friendly with the young boy's family. When the murdered child's step-father learns of this, he freaks out and attacks Siebert. But then another boy ends up in danger and events threaten to overtake the detectives.

Just before the detectives can question the nurse, he disappears. Karin Gorniak believes that she recognizes Dr.Mertens as the perpetrator, but his family gives him an airtight alibi causing Gorniak to doubt her own judgment. She and Winkler must put aside their differences and work together to solve the case, and stop a killer.

The murder of a famous Dresden restaurateur leads detectives Gorniak and Hennrichs into the murky world of organized crime, but could the real killer be closer to home and in a much darker place? After the murder of a famous Dresden restaurateur, detectives Karin Gorniak and Marie Hennrichs find themselves investigating the world of organized crime. Even though such a high-profile murder is not the typical style of the "modern" mafia, there is a growing suspicion that the dead entrepreneur was involved in criminal activity. This line of inquiry is more than promising, particularly for their boss, Schnabel, who knew the dead man personally. But the victim's wife also looks increasingly suspicious as the investigation continues. The facade of the grieving widow starts to crumble, and the detectives find strong evidence linking her to the murder. It seems she has manipulated her children so much that it must have been her youngest son who killed his father.

14-year-old Talia surprised a murderer shortly after his deed and thus becomes the most important witness for commissioners Winkler and Gorniak. Unfortunately, the teenager can no longer remember anything, because Talia has developed a psychological self-protection since her mother's accidental death seven years ago: If she sees something that overwhelms her emotionally, her consciousness represses what she sees and changes it into a fictional reality that seems less horrible to her. Since then she has also tended to parasomnia: sleepwalking. While Gorniak and Schnabel try to follow all the other traces, Talia begins to trust Winkler and lead the commissioner into "her world". Together, the two succeed in overcoming Talia's fears and overcoming her trauma. Thalia is now able to provide the decisive clue that leads the investigators on the trail of a serial killer.

Investigators Karin Gorniak and Leonie Winkler as well as commissariat manager Schnabel are investigating in all directions. The rioting patient Arnold Liebig, from whom the health insurance company has cut benefits, is just as suspicious as Greta's colleague Hagen Rigmers, who seems to be hiding something and threatens his colleagues. A short time later, a second attack was carried out on an ambulance at the same location. The paramedic Elena Jancowicz is seriously injured, any help comes too late for a colleague. At the rescue station headed by operations center manager Peter Fritsche, fear of further attacks increases.

Anna Schneider is running on empty – the young café owner has been suffering constant harassment from an anonymous stalker. Having dealt with dead rats in her café and numerous anonymous calls, she is now plagued by unbearable pain. Even the slightest touch sends it stabbing through her body. The next anonymous call is too much for her: the young woman runs out into the street – and dies. In the postmortem everything points to a sudden heart attack without any suspicious circumstances. But Detectives Gorniak and Winkler are skeptical. That a 29-year-old, otherwise healthy woman, would simply die like this is suspicious enough for them. Detective Karin has also been recently dealing with inexplicable pain – and she too is now receiving odd messages from a stranger. Could Anna have been poisoned? Karin confides in her colleague Leonie – together they convince their boss, Schnabel to allow them to continue their homicide investigation.
