The government must intervene, because law and order are now on the rocks. After a showdown with Marie in the dressing room of her theatre, Sam is down. But she has to pull herself together quickly, because Racing is going through another turmoil: the club has been raided and is threatened with a takeover to avoid bankruptcy. For his part, Fodé is dragged unwillingly into a political and militant stand that is beyond him. Marie drops a new bombshell: making it legal for citizens to bear arms. While at first sight such a prospect seems unthinkable, Sam sees the dangerous path a radical idea can take to become socially acceptable. As the controversy over the right to bear arms intensifies, Sam continues to play the rallying and unity card, thanks to Racing, which is taking a stand against it. But democratic institutions are being overtaken by show politics: Kinsky proposes a live prime-time show featuring a panel of French people who will vote for or against citizens carrying weapons. Sam and Marie, each coaching their own candidate, face off in this final televised duel.
