We've only gone and managed to convince the world-famous Edinburgh Royal Vet School to reopen its doors to six new junior vets! But not all of the raw recruits are desperate to become vets when they're older. Some of them might well get wobbly at the slightest suggestion of surgery and others could panic at the prospect of picking up a puppy. One thing's for certain though, they're all keen to try and prove they can overcome any fears and phobias and become top animal menders. And every one of them is desperate to bag the prestigious title of head vet. This time, we're going to test them out at an even bigger network of zoos, wildlife hospitals and vet practices beyond vet school as we really put the junior vets through their paces. Junior Vets 2 is gritty, raw and real, but also life-affirming, heart-warming and mischievously entertaining as the trainees are guided through an increasingly intense training program and real world vet work ... something very few young people have ever been allowed to experience before. It's day one at vet school for the six new junior vets and new mentor Alex Riley. The junior vets get their hands on cute wriggling piglets that need their vitamins, a huge horse that may be having a baby and tiny kittens in need of a new home. Over the coming weeks, Alex will be at their side as they take on some really extreme vet jobs. And at the end of their journey, the top dog will be named head vet by Alex.
