Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures

Jack visits three California animal experts who use their menageries to better educate the public about wildlife and conservation.

Jack visits the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter, Fla., where he helps in a rescue, observes poisonous snakes and watches an owl's cataract surgery.

Jack visits a master trainer who works with the “Pets Ahoy” animal show at Sea World Orlando. He also talks to the show's creator and participates in one of the acts.

“Project Wildlife” is a California-based rescue center that cares for baby possums and owls; Jack observes orphaned elephant seals being nursed back to health at Sea World San Diego.

Jack observes three turtle species at the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. He also visits Pelican Island, the nation's first wildlife refuge, and aids a stranded pygmy whale.

Jack journeys to Namibia to help save the endangered cheetah and consults with the Cheetah Conservation Fund.

Jack visits the Mala Mala Game Reserve in South Africa, where he observes elephants and cape buffalo herds.

Jack visits the safari camp at Phinda in South Africa's Zululand at a time of drought and observes lions, leopards and cheetahs.

Jack observes hyenas, keeps pace with a white rhino and watches two playful leopards. Also: the Ngala Camp Choir entertains.

Observing animal life along Namibia's Skeleton Coast. Observed: jackals, furs seals. Jack is accompanied by his daughter.

At Richard's Bay in South Africa, Jack works with a Nile crocodile and snakes, including black mambas and Mozambique spitting cobras. Jack and his daughter observe hippos from a boat.

Jack observes rhinos who have been relocated in Zululand and checks on capturing a wild rhino. Also: a visit to the Duma Zulu cultural village.

The Cape Griffon vulture is saved from extinction due to the efforts of a woman in Namibia. Jack finds himself among wild dogs and also exercises some cubs.

Jack looks at a science club in a San Diego elementary school and its restoration of a once-polluted creek for the benefit of wildlife.

Jack visits Kenya's Sweetwater Sanctuary, where care is given to orphaned and abused chimpanzees, along a protected riverbank.

In the Laikipia District of Kenya, Jack finds out about a conservation project aimed at reducing the number of lions, leopards and hyenas killed by livestock owners.

Jack goes on safari in Tanzania and barely escapes a bull elephant's charge. He also observes colobus monkeys and huge crocodiles.

Jack returns to the arid landscape at Lewa in central Kenya to check on the conservancy’s remarkable progress with breeding and safe-guarding endangered rhinos. Jack also gets involved in field research on the endangered grevy zebra. In a marshy area, Jack’s daughter Kathaleen observes the sitatunga, Africa’s most aquatic antelope.
