Once upon a High School, in a land beyond imagination, comes the tale of Ever After High. A High School for the next generation of fairytales. Where spellbinding students are destined (or not) to follow in the footsteps of their fairytale parents.

The students are looking forward to the Spring Fairest and meet two new students from Wonderland. Alistair Wonderland, son of Alice and Bunny Blanc, daughter of the White Rabbit. However, Kitty Cheshire's mother, the Cheshire Cat, swaps the Storybook of Legends for the Riddle Book which causes Apple to be mean to her friends. Now it's up to Raven and everyone else to undo what she did wrong.

When the Storybook of Legends is found by Alistair Wonderland and Bunny Blanc, the two friends decide to bring the book back to Ever After High, but the Cheshire Cat has other plans for the book and swaps it with a book of cursed riddles instead, that turn all who read it topsy-turvy with their wild magic, one of whom is Apple, who thus threatens to destroy the fairytale world. Now, with only Maddie, Alistair, Lizzie, Bunny and Kitty left, they must solve the malicious riddle of the Cheshire Cat, and save their friends.
