In the pilpt of September 26,1983,Admiral Mallory(Weaver)faces the consequences of a Navy involving aerial exercise wherein a Cuban plane and Lt.Simon Adams(Anderson)plane are involved in a midair collision.This sends them down killing noone.The Admiral also has a run in with Harlan Adams over 1000 acres the Admiral seeks for an additional runway for Emerald Point N.A.S.This must go through the city council but Adams controls it and has no intention in giving up the land.Then there is a serious off-base dilemma for the Admiral.Lt. Glenn Matthews is arrested on murder charges of a young man,Jeremy.This also involves Matthews fiancee,Hilary Adams and the Admirals daughter Kay.Let the mess begin.Richard and Esther Shapiro wrote the pilot and Harry Falk directed it.

October 3,1983 brought us the first single hour episode post the pilot.Admiral Mallory is told by an Admiral Goddard that an official complaint i.e.fuss has been launched over the crash involving Lt. Simon Adams and the Cuban plane.Now the Russians are exploring new rules to govern incidents like these.Classified talks are set as Admiral Yuri Bukharin visits the N.A.S.as part of a delegation for talks on these matters.Lt. Glenn Matthews is released into the custody of the Navy awaiting a court martial for being a suspect in the murder of Jeremy Novak.Celias hubby Lt.Cmdr.Jack Warren puts together a defense for him.Did Matthews even have a motive?Tune in next week.Brothers Charles and Patrick Dicenzo wrote this episode.

October 17,1983 brought us dear Jill St.John as regular character Deanna Kincaid.She is an ambitious Navy wife and Rear Admiral Thomas Mallorys sister-in-law as mentioned elswhere on this site.She brashly shows up at Mallorts reception for Russian Admiral Yuri Bukharins reception.(Loggia with goofy accent and a bit too ""clichee evil"")Mallory is not happy with Deannas appearance as the Admirals unofficially talk about air incidents that could send atomic weapons at various countries.The two men are unsurprisingly at odds.There is added tragedy for the Warrens as Lt.Cmdr.Jack Warren begins his defense of Lt.Glenn Matthews for supposedly having killed Jeremy Novak in a drunken brawl.The whole case turns ugly as a witness is located that will gladly testify that Matthews fiancee;cerubial Hilary Adams had an affair with the murdered Jeremy.Of course this testimony is bad news.It gives a great motive.The revolving door of writers now welcomed Ronald Cowen and Daniel Lipman in.This did not he

Episode four is where Celia Warren miscarries and her hubby is not so sure it was an accident.So now Lt.Cmdr.Jack Warren is torn between his responsabilities to his wife and Lt.Glenn Matthews whom as you know he is defending on the little matter of Jeremy Novaks murder.Hilary Adams freaks a bit when trial council memeber Lt.Cmdr.Edward has a little chat with her about her relationship with the now expired Mr.Novak.She is to appear at the court martial.Our rotating writers continue as Joyce Armor and Judie Neer write this episode and our also unsteady director lineup adds Robert Becker.This one guest stars John Rubinstein.A well known TV face,he also can boast a starring role in the annoying failure,Crazy like a Fox.

This is sometimes referred to as episode five or six depending if you count the two-hour pilot as one or two shows.This episode ran October 31,1983(Halloween!)and the one before incidentally exactly one week before,October 24th.Well,the court martial of Lt.Glenn Matthews gets hot and bothered when his fiancee Hilary Adams and Admiral Mallorys daughter Kay both give vital testimony at the trial.Celia Warren spills the beans to her pappa that she asked hubby Jack Warren to walk out on her because she is upset that he thinks she caused a miscarrige.Admirals Mallory and Bukharin are still in heated talks over the aerial exploits.Meanwhile Harlan Adams enters an agreement with ""G.I.Joe""Willie Shell(of course!)about what happened to Capt.Farrell,Maggies hubby MIA in Vietnam since about 1973.Now we have a Mr.Schlitt as writer and director Nick Havinga.Too many cooks!John Rubinstein is still here,so I will refer to him as a semi-regular.

Alright,let us call this episode 7.Lt.Glenn Matthews awaits the perilous fate of his Naval career as the court martial ends and a shocking verdict is handed down.(Always so quickly on TV.)Harlan Adams introduces Maggie Farrell(Why does she have a Swedish accent...hmm..Maud Adams is from there...)to the ex-Marine looney Lt.Col. On November 21,1983 we get episode 10.Russian Lt.Alexi Gorichenko shocks us by proving he is human and not by Mattel.He is torn by his affection for Ensign Leslie Mallory so without logic he requests to return to Moscow since all Russians come from there.Instead he could have taken a cold shower.Meanwhile Hilary Adams is desperate when she cannot meet Rick Logans stickerprice of 20,000 blackmailing bucks.This is of course over the tapes of her and Jeremy Novak.People were woefully unconcerned with STD's here.Deanna Kincaid finds out about Hilarys problem and helps her out by saving money on her red hair dye.Celia Warren continues with the suddenly saintly Deannahs help to make plans to divorce Lt.Cmdr.Jack Warren.Why not call an ambulance chaser in the yellow pages?Ex Navy pilot Glenn Matthews asks Kay Mallory wedded bliss.Writer here was someone else again...Margaret Armen and Robert Becker directed as one of many newcomer directors in and out the door so fast his head fell off.

December 5,1983 brought us part 10 of this saga.Rear Admiral Thomas Mallory is presented with a top secret task after after getting wind of who Russian guest Adm.Bukharin is.He is not Anastasia.Jack Warren that wedded bliss between him and Celia is kaputt when she turns up with Lt.Simon Adams after missing all night.Because she is somehow regarded as an eight year old,this worries her insomniac family to death.Glenn Matthews makes his presence known at the Adams Industries when he devises a way to make Harlan even richer.Is it turning water into oil or Monopoly money into gold?Wait and see.Tom Mallory brings Maggie Farrell up to the latest news on her MIA hubby.He shows her a now released file on the Navys knowledge of the downed flyer.Here Robert Vaughn takes over for Patrick O'Neal as Harlan Adams.Yes,another writer.Joyce Keener.Yes,another director.Jeff Hayden.No,John Rubinstein is not resurrected.

December 12,1983 brought us halfway through the number of filmed episodes.Admiral Thomas Mallory comforts Maggie Farrell(I bet),now grieving as a Navy widow as formal burial is on the way for the remains of Capt.Martin Farrell.This plot seems to have concluded a bit fast.Celia Warren moves out of her fathers house and moves to the beach hopefully sheltered by half a dozen surfboards.Here she awaits her divorce from Lt.Cmdr.Jack Warren while dishing with Frankie and Annette.Jack confides to Celia that he is going to ditch the Navy for personal reasons.Perhaps the dramamine is no longer effective.Leslie Mallory continues her trist with Russian Lt.Alexi but she knows that this is doomed.This is due to the fact that their real names are Romeo and Juliet.Hilary Adams lets it be known that even if Glenn Matthews is now Kay Mallory's hubby,she is not about to give up.Perhaps she should have stood up and said something before the ceremony was over.She then stows away on Glenns plane when he fl

Episode numero 12 suddenly seemed to have been given names.This December 19,1983 episode was called ""The Rescue"".This is because a search is launched to find Glenn Matthews And Hilary Adams when their plane goes down at sea.We all know that planes are more unreliable and crash more often than during the lives of the Wright brothers.Deanna Kincaid arranges a secret meeting between Harlan Adams and the fiendish Rick Logan to get that nasty video tape that could ruin ""Sister Hilarys""reputation.She is referred as missing since it seems Frankie and Annette have dug her into a hole in the sand.Harlan now has even more monumental problems.Deannas weird relationship with Russian Admiral Bukharin becomes scary as she sinks deeper into it.Must be a ""I will spy on my country thing for you""or just as kinky tattoo thing.Now David Marquette,writer and son of an old Admiral Mallory friend,appears and makes an impression on Maggie Farrell and her sonny Scott.(Fight!)Michael Brandon joins the cast as r

Episode 13 aired January 2,1984.This one was full to the brim.It was called ""Hide and Seek"" and not ""Peekaboo"".Admiral Mallory and Naval Intelligence are deeply troubled at at breaches in the Adams Industries security system.This is the case for co-conspirators Deanna Kincaid and Russian Admiral Yuri Bukharin aka Ivan the Terrible.Glenn Matthews meanwhile rejects Jack Warrens offer to move towards a new court martial hearing to clear his good name since he is some sort of Boy Scout leader.This would also clear his Navy comission,but being destitute has its flashy allure.Kay confronts Hilary Adams in an effort to enlist her help in gaining info for this new trial which makes Glenn mad as a hatter.Harlan Adams reveals that he knows Hilarys secret.(She is not a man!)Hilary blames Deanna for telling her father and resents the fact that she also moved into the Adams home as Harlands woman i.e.floosey.Leslie and Russian Lt.Alexi's amore for one another grows more as does their inability to p

Episode 14 reaches the world on January 9/84.It is called ""The Assignment"".Lt.Simon Adams suffers jet plane ""flame out""during thrilling Naval manouvers.This has tragic results for only his partner since only bit players ever die.Do not assume anything from the fact that two men were together in a closely confined space and that the words flame and partner were used in one sentence.Also there are problems with our lovers Ensign Leslie Mallory and Russian Lt.Alexi.He has been ordered back to Russia.I fail to see what the big deal is.He did not take the cold shower and requested to go back home anyway.Deanna Kincaid now fears for her own safety at the hands of mad Russian Admiral Yuri Bukharin.She must complete espionage assignments and protect her identity fron Naval Intelligence.(Its her,Deanna Kincaid!)As always.....Writer Stephen Black and Henry Stern,director John Patterson.

Epic episode 15 hits us January 16th,1984.For some reason this again failed to be given an episode name.The writers never met one another.There was not enough room at the Astro Dome.Glenn Matthews forces Harlan Adams to make him vice-president of Adams Industries,based on what I know not.Perhaps because he invented the procedure to freeze his head for him.This news distresses wife Kay and even more so when Adams names Hilary Adams as his new assistant or top prize.Lt.Simon Adams grief over the death of fellow officer Phil Baines(see last synopsis)is made worse when Cindi Baines(not Brady),the widow,blames him for her hubbys demise.This cannot be since Simon makes Saints look smutty.(Hey,he actually feels guilt!)Her charge devastates the young officer,which we have already gathered.Thomas Mallory accompanies the cutesie Maggie Farrell to Washington D.C.,where it becomes serious with the two.I think we got that part.Maggie however is also the object of newcomer David Marquettes intimate
