EPISODE 1 Blackie Blackie is a 5 year old fox terrier cross who is the porky four legged prince of the Gogo household. If he is not sitting at the head of the table waiting to be hand fed his three course human meal by his adoring Mum Ina, he’s sleeping in the middle of her double bed, lying on the couch or being dressed up for a special occasion which he will be carried to. However, after years of wolfing down fried eggs for brekkie, takeaways and ice-cream for tea followed by fried chicken and sausage snacks, this pampered pooch won’t even take a whiff of anything that resembles real dog food. On top of a couch based exercise regime and a back literally about to break under the excess weight, the family know they are slowly killing him with kindness. So it’s up to the nutrition know-how of vet Sasha Nowell, and the exercise and obedience expertise of Alexis Banas to put this podgy pooch on the path to better health. But will the family manage to change the habits of a lifetime and start treating Blackie like a dog? How will his royal highness hound cope no longer being the king of the castle? And will it all be worth it as he steps on those scales at the final week 6 weigh in?
