Destination Michigan

We'll kick off the season ten with something to do in Kalamazoo! We're going to learn and play all day at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. Next, it's just a jump, skip, and a hop to Hop Lot in Suttons Bay, where we'll have a cold one in an unquestionably cool spot.

In this episode, the Destination Michigan crew is out to prove that wintertime is the BEST time to be in Michigan. Stefanie Mills hits the slopes at the historic Caberfae Peaks and Steve Smith pays a visit to Crystal Mountain. Then, host Matthew Ozanich hits the trails at the Cross Country Ski Headquarters. Finally, we'll warm up at Jordan Valley Glassworks and Grocer's Daughter.

We’ll face off on this episode of Destination Michigan as we skate our way to St. Ignace to drop the puck for the UP Pond Hockey Championships. Then, we’ll skip the silver bells and cockle shells and head straight to Dairy Doo to learn how to improve the health of our plants and make our gardens grow. And in Copemish, we meet a man who's on a mission to save the world's tallest trees.

It’s Party Time! On this episode of Destination Michigan we’re throwing a State Park Centennial Celebration.

We start in Midland as we explore the nation’s longest canopy walk in the Whiting Forest. Next, we’ll introduce you to furry friends at the Creature Conservancy in Ann Arbor. Then we shift our gaze back to the sky with the Mackinac Straits Raptor Watch. Then we’ll venture on a hike and along the North County Trail. Finally, we’ll meet the folks turning out tasty treats at Trenary Toast.

We head to Detroit to explore the birthplace of Ford Motor Company’s Model T. Then we’ll introduce you to a Mt. Pleasant man who restores Model Ts in his own garage. Next, we’ll sail away to Bay City and tour the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum. We'll travel to Petoskey to meet a couple who wants to revolutionize your view of farming. Put your endurance to the test at Iron Grip Ninja in Howell.

We pay a visit to Hope Well Ranch in the town of Weidman where people are experience the therapeutic qualities of horse back riding. We'll head out on the water with the Lake Leelanau Rowing Club. Steve Smith shares the story behind the interurban railway and Stefanie Mills discovers the delights at CMU’s Food Truck Friday event. We’ll also meet the plein-air painters at Paint Grand Traverse.

We’re raising our sail in Bay City to experience the intensely rigorous Bayview to Mackinac sailboat race. Then, we’re off to Drummond Island where we’ll meet a beaming boat builder. Next, it’s all hands on deck as we climb aboard a great lakes freighter and meet a sailor with a keen eye for photography. Finally, we'll provide an adrenaline rush as we catch a breeze and kiteboard.
