This historic gem, designed by renowned architect Thomas Hardcastle, stands as a symbol of wealth and prestige, featuring intricate brickwork, masonry lintels, and an elegant Chippendale porch. Thomas Hardcastle, known as a "master builder," acquired the property in the late 18th century, making him one of Maryland's most prominent landowners at the time. The mansion's unique structure comprises three distinct segments, including the original 2.5-story portion and a wooden-framed section added in 1781.
