It’s been a rough wait, thanks to Superbowl Sunday, but in a few short days, we’ve got a fresh episode of BSG coming our way… but since two weeks is too long to wait, we wanted to give some of the under-currents of Battlestar Galactica a bit of focus. The Theories, the speculation, all the things that could be going on behind the scenes.

Just because we need somewhere to put this sweet little ditty.

We take the BSGcast into new territory with a retrospective look at Season 3, and get down to the real themes and under currents that made this a season to remember… and it might be a little funnier than you’d expect, thanks to our dear friends Casey and Rudy from The Galacticast!

In the dead of the season break, we’ve got a shiny little gem of BSGoodness to share with you. Well, actually two. Not only is the Battlestar Prometheus story up to a climactic Episode 10 season finale, but we managed to land some face time with Katee ‘Starbuck’ Sackhoff while she was at Polaris21, and she let us in on some info on the post-Crossroads situation on her character, as well as some info on the Pegasus telemovie “Razor” and even went into the details of keeping secrets from the rest of the cast! Watch for part 2 of the interview coming next week…

As promised, we bring you Part 2 of our exclusive little sit down with Katee "StarBuck" Sackhoff. This time, we focus a bit less in the area of upcoming Galactica spoilers. Instead we get some insight into Katee as an actress, her past and upcoming roles, and of course, we do find out what the meaning of BSG is in her eyes. If you enjoyed Part 1, you’ll love the second half!.

Ok, so we had a booth at the Fan Expo this year, and it was a pretty huge event. And we’ve got to say thanks to Tootie for swinging by the booth and chatting some serious BSG! Hopefully she’s loving the BSGcast.com thong. Oh yes, we made those special for the event. All we can say is: “Do Your Job”, Tootie :) This video feature breaks from the traditional, and instead chronicles our exploits while we were there. Nat got an exclusive with Greg Pak, the writer behind the Battlestar Galactica comics, and, of course, with Tricia Helfer there, we made sure to get some info out of her about Season 4 and Razor during her Intimate & Interactive session! You’ll get a pretty big kick out of all the feature, and later this week look for Tricia’s I&I right here!

Nat managed to swing an interview with THE writer of the Battlestar Galactica comicbook tie-in miniseries, Grag Pak. Between his chattgin with Ronald D. Moore and his writing Marvel’s 2007 mega-story, World War Hulk, Greg Pak is a busy man, with some amazing stories to tell about his work, and why you might just want to pick up an issue of Battlestar Galactica.

So, here it comes, just in time to enjoy before sitting down to watch Razor with a belly full of turkey and pumpkin pie: the first honest to goodness BSGcast in over a half year! We crammed all seven “Razorettes” into one BSGcast, it just made sense that way. And you can look for our Spoiler-iffic Razor review to pop up here in the next 24 hours!

Well, one of Matt’s New Year’s Resolutions was to finally edit this Tricia Intimate + Interactive Talk together in some form. We’re not in it, since we’ve been busy shooting the Razor DVD review, but at the very least you’ll see Tricia go into the non-spoiler but certainly teasing elements about Season 4, as well as some of the bits about co-stars like James Callis, Michael Hogan and Edward James Olmos that are just fun. So hopefully you get a laugh and a gasp out of some of what Tricia had to say about what’s to come!

Matt + Nat take on the most interesting and daunting part of the Extended Edition DVD of “Razor”: The Hybrid’s Prophecy… taking it line by line and dissecting the meaning, there is a LOT more there than you might think… Next week we finish off our DVD Review by talking about the differences in the Extended Cut and the bonus features of the DVD!

So, we were planning to cram a Season 3 DVD Review in to this one, but it was running long, so today we’ll be bring you some info on the newly green-lit BSG spin-off Caprica, a bit about the BSG appearance on Letterman, and an update on the April 4-5 Frak Party in Las Vegas and LIVE BSGcast!

Since the release, we’ve been furiously watching the new Season 3 DVD set, the single biggest BSG DVD Box Set ever, and it takes one BIG BSGcast to cover it all. We go into the commentary tracks, special features, and dive right into the really meaty stuff: the Deleted scenes… including the 25-minutes of extended “Unfinished Business”. Guest correspondent Rudy Jahchan gets the enviable opportunity to talk to one of the smartest people on Earth: the Science Advisor on Battlestar Galactica. The beautiful and talented Luciana Carro, who played Starbuck’s Nugget-turned-CAG nemesis ‘Kat’ in Battlestar Galactica, sits down for a chat with BSGcast Las Vegas Correspondent Rudy Jahchan to talk about her experiences on the show, what she’s up to now, and the information she’s privy to for Season 4.

Written by Battlestar Prometheus‘ Ryan Keeton and Galacticast’s Rudy Jahchan, featuring the wild and wonderful characters in attendance at the Season 4 Premiere Frak Party in Vegas, this is BSGcast’s answer to the Battlestar Galactica Top 10 List from David Letterman.

We got completely blindsided yesterday with a preview of what the Graystone and Adams families have in-store for BSG fans… and it looks like a serious departure from the military drama we’re all used to, but the moral and ethical dilemmas abound! Eddie and Aaron did a Q&A Session at Fan Expo Canada on Sunday, as well as signed autographs and chatted with fans. On top of our exclusive preview of the items on Friday, we’ll have the heads of departments like costume and props attending our Official Cast and Crew Premiere Screening on January 16th, as well as our Q&A sessions and soirees all weekend, so you can pick their brains for colourful anecdotes, get autographs and take lots of pictures! As of now, we’ve got our Vegas Alumni Luciana Carro and Dr. Kevin Grazier confirmed for January 16th+17, as well as the one and only Richard Hatch! We’re also still chatting with Michael Hogan, Tricia Helfer, Tahmoh Penikett and Kandyse McClure’s people to get them there too… it IS L.A. afterall, and they’re usually right there! For the Propworx Battlestar Galactica Auction, The Auction Network set out to find the perfect two fans to do colour commentary while the items were up for bidding, and one of the big winners was Ryan Keeton, author of Battlestar Prometheus and all around BSG super-fan, who was flown in to Pasadena all the way form his home in Leesville, LA! Enjoy as he takes us around some high-profile BSG props, sets and costumes!

Nat sits down with Richard Hatch, the actor behind Tom Zarek in the current Battlestar Galactica and Apollo in the original, to try and get some information about the rest of the series, and specifically what’s in store for his character. Little does she know, with Richard Hatch, information comes at a price.

Nat chats with Battlestar Galactica’s revered Costume Designer, Glenne Campbell, to find out about the challenges and highlights of working on the entire series, brings us in on a very personal moment during the auction and touches a bit on her upcoming work on Caprica!

Matt gets the chance to chat with the actor behind Galactica’s X.O. Colonel Saul Tigh, Michael Hogan. He talks about being Canadian, his acting career, attending conventions and how much he wants to win the cPanel Flat Panel HDTV we’re giving away! For a character that’s so angry and bitter, the actor sure is a delightful dude! But then again, he DOES live in Canada, so being in Los Angeles in the middle of January puts a smile on any of our faces… even Saul Tigh’s! :)

It’s been two weeks since BSGcast LIVE in Pasadena, California, and it’s time to announce the winner of the cPanel Flatpanel 32″ HDTV plucked from the comments on the five episodes that were recorded LIVE at the Battlestar Auction for the premiere of the back-10 of the season!

Thanks to the miracle of DragonCon, Nat had the chance to sit down with Alessandro Juliani, the multi-talented Canadian actor behind her favourite character, Lt. Felix Gaeta. Find out what he had to say about the finale (SPOILER WARNINGS!), the mutiny arc and get a glimpse into the mystique of the man… the MAN-stique.

In keeping with our apparent theme of beloved characters who die in the back-10 of the final season, Nat had the chance to chat with Michael Trucco, the actor behind Samuel T. Anders, the resistance-fighter-turned-cylon (or would he really be the cylon-turned-resistance-fighter?). He tells us his thoughts on the finale, working with Katee, playing injured in a tub of goo, and what’s next for him in his acting career.

Everyone seems to have loved our interview with Mary McDonnell so much, that we decided to keep it up! So at DragonCon we managed to sit down and chat with a few more of the incredible actors that brought us some of the characters we know and love from BSG, to get a bit of insight into how they experienced the show from their perspective. First up, Matt chatted with the beautiful and talented Kandyse McClure who played Anastasia Dualla for almost the entire run of the series… almost. So consider this your spoiler warning! From her thoughts on the growth of her character, to what she’s up to now, Kandyse gives us a great peek into what makes her, and Dee, tick!

It’s taken quite a while to pour over the hours and hours of featurettes, commentaries, videoBlogs, deleted scenes and of course, Extended Episodes on this, the final DVD Box-Set we’ll ever see for Battlestar Galactica. Not to mention getting it signed by President Laura Roslin herself. And at last, we announce the winner of the Mary McDonnell signed Season 4.5 set, along with our thoughts on the DVDs themselves. Hot on the heels of this baby is our review of The Plan, along with details on how you can win dinner with Admiral Adama!

Jane Espenson and Edward James Olmos were the people in charge on this one: Olmos was there for every episode that went into making The Plan happen in Season 2, and Jane was there for none of them and it shows. Amazing direction, performances, visuals compliment a story that fires on all cylinders for 30 minutes and then lumbers through the rest of the first two seasons with about as much grace as a Cylon Colony. But goddam, Dean Stockwell was delicious as F-Cavil and C-Cavil on their respective journeys and those Colonies got it good!

We were fortunate enough to catch up with Mary McDonnell one week before her appearance at DragonCon, while she was in Toronto for Fan Expo! Nat had the chance to sit down with her, on set, and chat about her thoughts on Battlestar’s Finale, Laura’s fate, Roslin Tattoos and even Caprica!
