Though it feels petty and humiliating, Park Mu-an, a useless salesman with no friends, no lover, and no hobbies, grinds through each day, haunted by the sense that he's growing older without achieving anything. It was the summer of 2010. Smartphones just began to appear and wireless earbuds still felt like science fiction. One ordinary morning, Han Young-seo, the top student at her high school, heads to school and slips into a deserted back alley.
