Wanjugu Kimathi, the daughter of the leader of the Mau Mau rebellion, Dedan Kimathi, searches for her father’s remains while fighting for land rights for forgotten veterans of the anti-colonial struggle. Through the eyes of Kimathi’s widow, Mukami Kimathi, and the voices of Mau Mau fighters, the film tells their stories of British colonial rule, and the ongoing trauma of those who believe justice is still denied. We see Wanjugu fight for land for the Mau Mau descendants and hear her plea for Dedan Kimathi’s remains to be returned and buried with honour.

With its many dancing challenges and comedy sketches, it’s no surprise TikTok is popular with young Kenyans. The app is also a way for them to make money through its gifting service. But there’s a darker side, where young women – including teenage girls as young as 15 – are selling sexual content on live streams, with some being recruited and exploited by “digital pimps”.
Africa Eye's Debula Kemoli investigates.
A spokesperson for TikTok told the BBC it has zero tolerance for exploitation, enforces strict safety policies and has robust live content rules and moderation in place for 70 languages, including Swahili.

Two years after the start of the civil war in Sudan, #BBCAfricaEye and #BBCEye Investigations have gained unique access to El Fasher, the capital of north Darfur.
Described by the UN as "Hell on Earth, where people could lose their lives on any day", a million people are living under bombardment in El Fasher - the last city to hold out against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, who have besieged it for a year.
The siege imposed by the RSF has prevented any journalists from entering the city for the last 12 months, but BBC Eye Investigations managed to get cameras to three of its citizens. They describe their daily battle to survive under siege and being targeted because of their African ethnicity, in terms that seem to support the UN's warning of potential genocide.

On June 25th 2024, blood was spilt at Kenya’s parliament.
That day, thousands of protestors headed there to stop the 2024 finance bill being passed into law. En-route they were met with tear gas, truncheons, and even gunfire. When they got there, and stormed the legislature, some of that gunfire turned lethal. At least three people were killed: students, shopkeepers, and Sunday school teachers. Since then, no one has been held to account for their deaths.
Now, using open-source intelligence (OSINT) and forensic techniques, #BBCAfricaEye can expose the men who spilled blood on the grounds of Kenya’s parliament.

For nearly a decade, there has been a violent crisis unfolding in Cameroon. It’s a conflict between Cameroon’s security forces and armed separatists over the country’s two English-speaking regions; a conflict that has subjected the local population to property destruction, unlawful killings, rapes, abductions and much more.
Cameroonian journalist Blaise Eyong, who has been reporting on this story since the unrest began in 2016, takes us into the heart of one of the world’s most neglected crises — bringing us face to face with both its victims and its perpetrators.

In the transit town of Maai Mahiu, in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, undercover reporters expose two women exploiting children for sex - one claiming to have a girl as young as 13 years old. In Kenya, laws are in place to protect minors under the age of 18 from such threats with strong penalties for offenders, including imprisonment ranging from 10 years to life.
The film also follows the work of a woman known as 'Baby Girl', who is on a mission to rescue, protect and empower girls escaping exploitation, towards a brighter future. Formerly a sex worker of 40 years, Baby Girl now supports her community in HIV prevention, assisted by US aid agency USAID. But as this funding comes to an end in Kenya, the future and security of those she helps protect is uncertain.
The BBC gave all its evidence to the Kenyan police in March 2025. The BBC believe the madams have moved location since then. The police said the madams and young girls we filmed could not be traced. To date there have been no arre

One in two people globally will experience some form of mental illness in their lifetime according to the World Health Organisation.
Treating these is a multi-billion-dollar global business, which does not just benefit big pharmaceutical companies. It is a market that operates with little oversight and, critics say, often puts clients at risk of serious harm and even death.
Africa Eye investigates Cape Town’s emergence as a hub for unregulated psychedelic treatments - and gains rare access to South Africa's network of treatment centres, where illegal drugs are freely administered, leaving participants vulnerable to potentially harmful consequences.

In a village nestled in the mountains of the Democratic Republic of Congo, everyone is looking for an answer to their problems. A teacher hopes to find it in educating his pupils for a better life, a policeman hopes to find it in establishing order, and a miner hopes to find it in coltan, an essential element used in manufacturing electronics.
The mineral is both a blessing and a curse to the locals. It may have brought wealth to some, but it has also brought a decades long war between numerous local groups backed by international players.
For many miners their dreams remain frustratingly underground, seemingly just out of reach.
But for one miner can this “grey gold” now bring his family back together?

Africa Eye reporter Ayanda Charlie investigates the inner city’s abandoned and derelict buildings, where many people live in conditions unfit for human habitation. After decades of decay and neglect, many of these buildings lack electricity, water or basic sanitation with open sewers a common sight.
Worse still, some buildings are hijacked by criminals who take control and collect rent for themselves, turning them into havens for illicit activity,.
The BBC has been able to identify the location of 102 of these abandoned and derelict buildings, but some reports say there are up to 700, in an area of only a few square miles.
South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has spoken of the need to “turn around those abandoned b
