Battle Dogs

Pen and Hannah rescue dogs in one of the most dangerous cities in the world: Kabul.

Pen and Hannah, rescue injured dogs from Afghanistan and find them forever homes, since the Taliban forbade the people of Afghanistan from having pets.

Pen and Hannah vaccinate cows and donkeys in a migrant camp on the edge of Kabul once a month. Then, they are called to rescue a kitten who has fallen into a sewer.

Pen and the Nowzad staff visit a military hospital to look into the health of the bomb and ammunition sniffer dogs that work at the hospital. The soldiers show Pen and Najwa the skills and the conditions that the dogs love in.

Nate, an American soldier in Kabul, cannot keep his dog, Moose, at Camp Scorpion. Pen and Hannah go to the U.S. base to take Moose to the Nowzad Clinic and prepare him for his trip, as he will have his forever home in Savannah, Georgia

Pen and Hannah meet a gymnastics team in Kabul called Parkour, who are moved by the hope they express in the pursuit of their sport and hope to someday go to the Olympics.

Both Najwa, a clinic director, and Jordan, rescue puppies born on the streets in Kabul, to take care of them and find them forever homes.

Pen and Hannah are trying to find a dog that someone has called into the clinic about and even though they can't find the dog, they see the Art Lords doing their graffiti on the blast walls around the embassies in Kabul.

In this episode, we get to learn a bit more about Pen and Hannah and meet another key crew member at Nowzad. Then, chaos ensues as distemper ravages the clinic and everything must be cleaned, sterilized, and everyone needs to be re-vaccinated.
