Tom and Semir chase Matuschek's vehicles, and a homeless man, Schmölder, happens to find a suitcase containing a million marks. Matuschek sets his men on him. However, Schmölder plans to travel to Canada with his estranged daughter. While Tom and Semir track him down, Matuschek's gang attacks and seriously injures Schmölder's friend Jupp. The police catch Matuschek in a fake money handover - but Schmölder escapes with the money. At the airport, they finally let him leave with his daughter.

Tom witnesses a robbery in which his former colleague Petra dies. He swears revenge and pursues the perpetrators Dräger and Habermann. Dräger kills Habermann with Tom's gun and draws suspicion onto Tom. Jenny, Habermann's girlfriend, gives false testimony, so Tom is suspended. Businessman Ludwig Solms suspects his disinherited brother Georg, who feels cheated out of his inheritance. But Ludwig is secretly being blackmailed by foreman Wohlfahrt, who is actually behind the attack. When Wohlfahrt dies in an explosion and Georg flees the scene, he seems to have been convicted. Cathrine Delors is an employee of Interpol in France. She is supposed to help Semir and Tom solve the murder of Frank Schwarz. He was involved in drug dealing in Marseille together with the gangsters Hofmann, Cramberg and Laubner. All four gangsters were originally supposed to testify together against the notorious 'Godfather of Marseille' in Germany. But he seems to have gotten wind of it and hired a killer. Schwarz was victim number one. The Cobra team must now track down the remaining three drug dealers with the help of Cathrine Delors before the killer does. During the investigation, Tom falls in love with Cathrine Delors, without realizing that she is actually the professional killer hired...
