Two fisherman brothers, encouraged by the promise of quickly obtaining a flat, arrive at a fishing farm on Lake Śniardwy. While working, they renovate a cottage rented from Sznajder, a fishing guard. They also befriend Marek, a young ichthyologist. After some time, they discover that poachers are operating on the lake.
