Beginnings

It's a race against the clock to stop the release of a biological weapon that could very well be the catalyst to the extinction of mankind.

Despite Joe Slagel's attempt to stop it, the deadly virus has been unleashed. All efforts are being made to contain the virus before it is too late.

Panic ensues as the virus strikes with a vengeance and society begins to break down. The outbreak shows no signs of weakening. Joe heads north to be with his family, while Catherine Donovan and Dean Hayes work diligently to find a cure.

The world falls apart. Joe and Ellen struggle to keep their family together. While it looks like the virus is winning, Dean doesn't give up and may get a fighting chance when a soldier named, Dan arrives.

The rest of the world is quiet but there is a ray of hope in Ashtonville as Dean works on the cure. Frank Slagel nears home and the President arrives with news.

The final days of the virus have come and the survivors in Ashtonville begin the plan for the next phase of their lives.
