The Gutsy Frog

During a fight, Hiroshi trips and a Frog gets stuck on his shirt. The Frog introduces himself as Pyonkichi. / After Pyonkichi got stuck on a shirt, he is unable to go back to the world of frogs. But, he reunites with Pyonko.

Hiroshi finally schedules a date with his crush, Kyoko. On the way to the date, he loses his voice. / Captivated by a lady passing by, Hiroshi is scolded by Kyoko. Hiroshi says he was just looking at sunglasses.

Goro falls in love with a girl called Misako. For this, Pyonkichi and Hiroshi have a big fight. / Gorilla-imo and Hiroshi promise to duel. But after hearing some rumors, Hiroshi is afraid.

Pyonkichi watches a mother feeding a baby lovingly. Touched, he asks Hiroshi to treat him nicely as well. / Goro plays shogi with Hiroshi. But Pyonkichi comments from the side, Hiroshi feels as if he's not even playing.

There is a school baseball game and Hiroshi is jealous of the popular classmate on his team. / Hiroshi sees Goro helping a lady being harrassed and getting a kiss as a token of grattitude.

Gorilla-imo was taking care of a stray-cat that he named Maria. Hiroshi decides to take her home. / Hiroshi spins the shirt with Pyonkichi like a fan. Kyoko gets angry at him, but they are training for the washing machine.

Hiroshi's homeroom teacher Mr. Machida is a great teacher with 25 years of experience. / Hiroshi's cat Maria has a bad habit of taking shoes from other houses.

Hiroshi loves sushi, but he hasn't had any for months! / Ms. Yoshiko who teaches English is a beautiful lady who Hiroshi admires.

Gorilla-imo loves Hiroshi's cat Maria. But, he is very jealous of Hiroshi as Maria is very attached. / Hiroshi is fired up to find a partner for the still single Ume.

Kyoko's friend Midori seems to have some interest in Hiroshi as she is seen staring at Hiroshi. / Ume falls in love at first sight with Ms. Yoshiko. He even comes to the school!

The last day of the school year, Hiroshi plans something in order to got be scolded for his bad grades, / Kyoko invites Hiroshi to go skating. Hiroshi can't skate at all, but he ends up taking the offer.

Hiroshi and Pyonkichi promise Ume to go to the orphanage's Christmas party. / Setsu, a girl Ume treated like a younger sibling at the orphanage, goes to confide in Ume.

Pyonkichi participates in a tournament with Hiroshi, but he catches a cold. / New Year's Eve, everyone's eating soba so there are no customers in Ume's restaurant.

Misako comes crying to Hiroshi and the others. She's lost her New Year's money. / Kyoko and the others go skiing with Mr. Minami's car. Hiroshi misses out on going with them.

Kyoko's dream is to become a bride. Hearing that, Hiroshi is determined to become an ideal husband. / Hiroshi and Pyonkichi have a huge fight. Hiroshi even wears his shirt backwwards as they don't even want to look at each other.

Hiroshi and Kyoko are now sitting faraway from each other due to the change of seating in class. / Ume comes to sneak a peak at Ms. Yoshiko's class everyday, but Ms. Yoshiko is troubled.

Hiroshi is invited to go bowling with Kyoko, so Hiroshi studies about Bowling to look good in front of others. / Mr. Minami tells the class that they are going swimming in mid-winter, everyone wants to avoid it.

A mother and child frog visits town to look for the father. They look at Pyonkichi and think it's him. / Ume learns about Valentine's day and sends Ms. Yoshiko a bunch of chocolate.

Mr. Minami plays a prank of dropping a bucket on Hiroshi the day he is late to school and makes Hiroshi angry. / The goldfish Pyonkichi was watching over has been attacked by a cat. Pyonkichi thinks it might be Maria.
