On May 4, 1986, 11-year-old Arthur Ghurahoo is found in a ditch in the area of Fort Vechten near Utrecht. He had been sexually assaulted and murdered. Detectives Rob and Jan got involved in the case, but a breakthrough was not forthcoming. After almost twenty years, new DNA research eventually led to a solution. The solution nevertheless came as a shock to the former police chief: it turned out that he had known the perpetrator personally for forty years.

The murder of left-wing activist Louis Sévèke in 2005 has gripped all of Nijmegen. Louis is the Godfather of the Nijmegen squatters scene, a crafty legal adviser who constantly takes cases against the police and even exposes undercover officers of the security services. An exciting time has come for detectives René and Renata. They have to solve a murder, while the police themselves are suspected of the murder. Informants, officers and detectives tell their side of the story for the first time.

In the warm summer of 2005, the body of Anneke van der Stap from Rijswijk is found. The 22-year-old woman has been missing for 11 days and the body is in an advanced state of decomposition.
