Eric Martin (Harald Leipnitz), a well-known London fashion photographer, is visited by his brother Philip (Peter Thom), who is returning from military service in Hamburg. He tells him a strange story: he had to travel on to Dublin that same day because an Irish comrade named Sean Reynolds had been run over in Hamburg. The visit is intended for Reynolds' widow. As Philip leaves, Eric has no way of knowing that he has seen his brother alive for the last time. A few days later he was found dead in the Royal Falcon Hotel in Maidenhaid. Andy Wilson (Christian Wolff) asked Eric Martin (Harald Leipnitz) to replace a locker. Eric finds a suitcase inside and takes it home. When he opens it, he can hardly believe his eyes: there are over a million German marks inside. Gangster Eddie Meadows (Henry van Lyck) poses as a Scotland Yard officer to get the suitcase, but at that moment Inspector Hyde (Albert Lieven) calls. Meadows now threatens Eric with a gun. His accomplice, who is waiting outside Eric's studio, manages to storm in before the police arrive. Meadows is arrested. Inspector Hyde now gradually believes in Eric's innocence and realizes that the money in the suitcase came from a bank robbery in Hamburg in which several people from London, including Eric's brother, were involved. All threads come together in the Royal Falcon Hotel. The case takes an unexpected turn.
