Chyłka, who has already buried her career, supports herself by giving legal advice, and spends her free time drinking. Everything changes when fate puts Bukano in her path – Roma, whose wife and daughter were brutally murdered. Chyłka agrees to help the man with the formalities related to the insurance policy. She does not expect that a seemingly trivial inheritance case can become a springboard to her return to the top… To Chyłka's surprise, the policy is for an absurdly high amount and was purchased from Salus, a company whose interests are represented by the law firm Żelazny & McVay, or more precisely – Lew Buchelt and his new trainee Kordian Oryński. The possibility of getting back at the law firm and the prospect of a large salary puts Chyłka in a good mood, although the road to success will not be easy. She can no longer count on Kormak's support, and her relationship with Szczerbiński goes through a serious crisis.

Szczerbiński visits Chyłka and once again tries to make her realize how reckless and dangerous her behavior has been lately. The attorney ignores his words and after spending the night together begins to prepare to defend her client. In the courtroom, Bukano gives an explanation and once again convinces that he is innocent. Despite his condition, Chyłka begins to resemble his former self during the trial - he confronts the prosecutor and questions the truthfulness of one of the witnesses. Will she have a chance to win in the clash with the prosecutor's office, the law firm and Salus? Kordian and Buchelt are summoned to a meeting with Piotrowski, which is also attended by Langer. The Salus board expects the lawyers to do everything so that the company does not have to pay out the million-dollar insurance policy. Zordon begins to understand that any success Chyłka has in the Bukano case puts her and her loved ones in danger.

Chyłka, despite her recent successes in the courtroom, is unable to give up alcohol. Szczerbiński tries to help her once again, but as usual, the addiction proves stronger. Meanwhile, Kordian is increasingly concerned about what is happening around the Bukano case and the role that Langer is playing in it. It becomes obvious to him that he cannot count on Buchelt's help. In an act of desperation, he decides to talk to Chyłka again, whose client disappears under unexplained circumstances. Will Oryński manage to convince her of his loyalty this time? Time is running out, and Langer slowly begins to prove to the lawyers that anyone who decides to help them will suffer the consequences.

Bukano manages to escape. He doesn't remember where or by whom he was held. His return coincides with the news of a tragic accident in which one of Salus' representatives dies. Buchelt unexpectedly visits Kordian in his apartment. Through his patron, Langer makes Zordon an offer he can't refuse. During the next hearing, Oryński finds a way to exclude himself from the trial and avoid confrontation with Chyłka in the courtroom. However, Buchelt calls another witness whose testimony is to ensure Salus' victory.
