Single mother and nursery school teacher Miyuki meets Sri Lankan Kumara while doing volunteer work after the 2011 disaster, and they reunite by chance a year later. Kumara has been working at a car repair factory in a nearby town. Miyuki initially hesitates at Kumara's eager attempts to court her, but the two slowly grow close, and build a family-like relationship with Miyuki's daughter Maya. In order to overturn the deportation order from the Immigration Services Bureau, the family must win a court battle. However, an extremely difficult road lies ahead.
