In Ennis, hunting season is about to begin. Scott and his father need money to prepare their traps. At the White family ranch, a huge herd of elk is endangering the survival of their precious livestock.

Big game hunter Rick Matzick and his friend Harrison White have been hunting elk for several days. The two hunters are trying to locate the herd. After three days of tracking, they'll be able to count on a new ally: the cold, which will force the animals out!

Near the village of Twodot, on the White family ranch, Rick and Harrison, after several days of tracking in the mountains, have finally managed to locate members of the elk herd. But it's still far from over, as the cold and snow make hunting extremely difficult. Further north, the town of Great Falls is experiencing the biggest rodeo weekend of the year in Montana.

As Montana experiences one of its worst winters in 25 years, big game hunter Casey Kircher has been alerted to the presence of a mountain lion in his area. Accompanied by his two tracking dogs, he attempts to flush it out in the mountains despite the enormous amount of snow.

In Montana, winter is so harsh, even the slightest outing can be perilous. In Big Hole Valley, trapper Scott Olsen and his friend Theo have been trapped by the cold. They must find shelter at all costs to spend the night in the forest. Scott Clark is preparing to compete in Montana's largest ice fishing tournament despite a terrible snowstorm. At the White family ranch, the cattle-feeding equipment is breaking down one after the other. Harrison must find solutions because the cows are waiting and they're hungry!

This year, Big Hole Valley is experiencing one of its worst winters in 25 years. Despite the snow, Scott and Susie Olsen must travel to Jackson, the nearest village. Unfortunately, the trek through the forest proves to be much more dangerous than expected.
