About 2 years ago, I made this video about AI art and how I felt it was on the verge of destroying art itself or something. Very existential, very somber. But in the time since I’ve made that video, I’ve realized that maybe I was duped.
Maybe this technology isn’t all powerful, all capable, and maybe there are limitations that technological progress can’t solve.
Maybe this is destined to just make funny clips on the internet.
So today, I’m gonna take a look back at what’s happened, what I think will happen, and why ultimately AI art isn’t going to replace humans.

Back in 2002, a special on TV tried to predict what would happen in 2025. That’s right, back when the iPod and Windows XP was the coolest thing around, humanity decided to take a shot predicting what might happen….now.
Then, it was lost. For nearly 2 decades this thing was almost impossible to find, and at one point became lost media. And that’s a shame, because this is filled with good ol early 2000s nostalgia and bad acting.
But now, in 2025, we have it again. And I’m gonna watch it.

Microsoft has been doing a lot of weird things with the xbox brand recently. Putting previous console exclusives to competing boxes is the sort of thing you’d expect if they were getting out of the console war, right? So….are they getting out of the console war?

I like ambitious building concepts. I think most people are at least fascinated by what some architectural firm comes up with when they’re bored. But there’s a reason most visionary skyscrapers remain visions, as opposed to real things. It’s because they’re kinda dumb. Sky City 1000 was the attempt to build an entire city, within a single building, inside another city. It’s a bad idea, obviously, and it wasn’t going to happen, but I think its worth looking back at what, at one point, wasn’t seen as ‘the worst idea ever’.
Bordering on science fiction, while somehow appearing to be uniquely nostalgic, this is one of my favorite planned hyper tall skyscrapers, but also one I’m glad was never and will never be constructed.
