As well as overlooking the busiest shipping lane in the world, this route contains one of the world's rare rivers - a chalk stream flowing through the heart of Dover. On the Scottish Borders, Kate walks almost 15 miles from the historic fishing village of St Abbs to England's most northerly town, Berwick Upon Tweed. Her trek starts on St Abbs Head, from where she descends to St Abbs harbour, named after a Northumbrian Princess and Saint, Ebba, who was shipwrecked and founded a nearby monastery in the 7th century.
