Nine ordinary Americans are opening their homes to an inmate recently released from prison. Across the country, these individuals are on separate journeys but share a single motivating force: to help formerly incarcerated individuals re-enter society. In Colorado, 61 year old Daniel travels to pick up 24 year old Deven from prison. Former inmate Aaron moves in with social studies teacher David in Minneapolis. Cyndi wants the companionship of soon-to-be-released Jennifer, but quickly realizes she may have bitten off more than she can chew. Analisa and Vada are blindsided when former inmate Mark insists three women stay at their house.
