Homegrown (2023)

We'll meet the man who's overcome great challenges to become the ultimate supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks, then sit down with a Country Music Legend on a mission to help the children of Arkansas. But we'll get started with a true Arkansas original, the state's first Black Rodeo Queen, now mentoring a new generation of Arkansas Cowgirls.

We'll introduce you to brothers from Paragould leaving their brand on the world of Arkansas livestock & siblings finding unique, powerful voices through self-expression. We'll look back at the historic live conversation between a group of Arkansas 5th graders and the Int'l Space Station. But first, let's hear about a high school sports announcer who is flipping the script and finding her voice.

We'll see a look at someone few associate with Arkansas, novelist Ernest Hemingway. We'll return to the University of Central Arkansas as they welcome home Scottie Pippen. We'll catch up with a small town girl turned Hollywood star and visit UAPB in the fall of 1990. All this before reliving one of the most inspirational legacies in Arkansas sports history - the final season of the Carver Cobras.

We'll see a photographer revolutionizing portraits in the Internet age. We'll hear from an Arkansas collector and his closet of country music history. And finally we'll revisit an Arkansas transplant who took her self-expression to New York Fashion Week and beyond. But first, in Mt. View is a unique group of craftsmen working to make what is old new again.

From world-changing accomplishments to simple good deeds, countless difference-makers have hailed from the Natural State. On Homegrown this week hear how Danyelle Mussellman is inspiring people across the country in the fight against cancer and how a small group of Little Rock teachers are finding their groove in community music education -- all this and more, this week on Homegrown!

We'll visit Urbana Farmstead where an organic, homegrown vision is changing the face of South Little Rock. Then we'll catch up with Kat Robinson as she takes us on a statewide tour of one of our favorite desserts, PIE! And finally, we'll visit with a Little Rock chef on a mission to bring delicious Vegan Southern cooking to the state. But to begin, a scrumptious look at some small-town staples.

We'll go back in time to when depression-era England got the attention of Will Rogers. Then we'll visit a hometown hero returning to Clarendon to give back. On to a Country Music joint with a legacy in North Little Rock. Next to the town of Fordyce and their memorable Friday nights. But first, we'll head to Grady to meet a family that's been bearing fruit in the Delta for 50 years.

We'll visit a family playfully divided by the Salt Bowl. We'll see the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center where sharing family stories takes center stage. We'll celebrate Thanksgiving with a "band of brothers" at the Conway Fire Department. But first, a trip to Rabbit Ridge Farms in Bee Branch.
