Still have a lot of practice to get more skilled at flying it (and train a camera operator to help out doing the same), but early results are very promising! This is a DJI Phantom Vision 2+, with GPS placeholding and a 3-axis gimbal stabilized camera.

I had a chance to visit some really excellent gun collections on the island of Malta, and filmed a bunch of videos there that I think folks will enjoy. In addition, the Malta Tourism Authority (http://www.mta.com.mt/) stepped in and arranged visits to a variety of really interesting museums and sites on the island, which I also was able to film a couple of. I had not really appreciated just how much history is contained on the island, from millenia-old temples (I cannot recommend the Hypogeum enough if you are visiting, but unfortunately photography is prohibited within it - http://heritagemalta.org/museums-sites/hal-saflieni-hypogeum/) to the arrival of the Order of St John and the Great Siege in the 1500s to centuries of corsairing (ie, piracy), to Napoleon to WW1 POW camps and the WW2 bombing and air battles. This trip was far to brief to even begin to cover everything (sights and guns), and I am looking forward to a chance to continue working here again in the future!

The flagging that goes with demonetization also dramatically impacts YouTube's algorithmic suggestion of videos. A video that gets flagged for demonetization also gets its distribution squashed - people don't see it unless they search it out specifically. Today, YouTube deliberately treats its content creators like enemies. YouTube will not tell us what the actual rules are that get videos censored. I have been literally told by YouTube employees that they cannot and will not do so. I suspect this is because the rules are largely subjective, and enforced by call centers full of minimum-wage workers around the world who neither know nor care about issues they are censoring, and are motivated only by quota and timecard. Want some concrete examples? A German WW2 Panzerschreck rocket launchers is acceptable but a Civil War Cofer revolver is not. The FG42 vs BAR 2-gun match is acceptable, but the FG42 vs M1 Garand match is not. Shooting a Canadian sterile 8mm Bren is acceptable, but the video describing its history is not. What Jörg Sprave and the YouTubers Union are hoping to do with their partnership with IG Metall is convince YouTube to actually work with its creators. Provide us some basic transparency and actual partnership, using the possibility of very real and very serious lawsuits in Europe as a bargaining chip. Unless you want to see YouTube devolve into just another cable TV outlet, you should support their efforts. WWSD (What Would Stoner Do) is a project Karl and I did in 2017, to experiment with using modern AR components to create a rifle that met the original design intent of the AR-15/M16. That is to say, a very light and handy rifle using cutting edge modern materials. We used a monolithic polymer receiver (combining stock, grip, buffer tube, and receiver into a single component), pencil-weight barrel with modern surface treatments and stress relief, carbon fiber handguard, fully ambidextrous controls, captive recoil spring assembly, and other modernized elements. The result was a rifle capable of excellent accuracy, excellent reliability (including passing the infamous InRange mud test), and weighing less than 6 pounds with an optic and sling. We were approached by Brownells and KE Arms about developing the concept into a commercially available product, and the result was the WWSD2020, announced by Brownells at SHOT Show 2020. It is based on the KP-15 polymer lower receiver, designed and produced by KE Arms. During the Warlord Era and the Chinese Civil War, handguns were made by a wide array of institutions, form huge Western-style arsenals to regional repair depots to simple traveling blacksmiths. Even at the major arsenals, handguns were usually made in quantities too small to justify tooling up a production line, so instead gunsmiths made them one at a time. As a result, no two guns are quite the same. I had an opportunity to work with a collection of several hundred examples of these pistols, and compiled this book from them. It is divided into four chapters (Unique Chinese designs, Mauser C96 copies, FN 1900 copies, and other copies) and it is more than 500 pages of gorgeous full-color photography. I've included specific data on a few of the guns where the data still exists (mostly arsenal-made guns), but this is largely a cataloging effort to present the full range of what these pistols can be. There is virtually no mention of these guns anywhere else in firearms literature, and I hope that this book can both provide valuable information for those who are interested in the guns and this period of Chinese history, and also that it will spur more research into them.
