Welcome to Savernake Forest just outside the town of Marlborough. As an amazing example of British woodland, many ancient oaks call it home. Amoung these watchers of the forest is the King of Limbs, a truely gigantic and gnarled tree that has watched the centuries move by. Join us on todays walk as we make our way through these magnificant woods to visit the King of Limbs. Filmed March 2023.

This traditional sport has existed for hundreds of years and has become a part of the community's identity, happening every year on the May bank holiday. Due to the high injury rate it is no longer a sanctioned event and is essentially BANNED by the authorities.
