Six women and four men are now ready to tie their aprons and roll up their sleeves throughout Denmark's back tent. For weeks, they must compete on both Italian pastries, golden caramel, good old-fashioned rye bread, beautiful flower roulades and crazy illusion cakes. And then the participants here in the 11th season are exposed to even more secret baking than usual. It will be an extra nerve-wracking challenge for the participants who are most comfortable having practiced thoroughly from home!

Now the participants in the baking competition have to imitate them, and serve both parts to Markus and Katrine. It will be far from a success for everyone! You eat with your eyes first, they say. So the sense of sight is at least as important as the sense of taste when the judges have to assess the performance of the participants in the baking competition. But what actually happens when Katrine and Markus have to evaluate the baked goods blindfolded? In the masterpiece, it's about "cheating" the judges and baking illusion cakes that must look like something completely different from cake! The seven participants have to put their ears out extra hard to complete the secret challenge. They get to read the recipe aloud in three very different Danish dialects! And then the word "Denmark" must be spelled with beautiful letter cakes - filled with Danish summer flavours. The masterpieces pay tribute to well-known landmarks in Denmark - from Esbjerg in the west, past Randers, across the Great Belt Bridge, and to the famous music scene in Roskilde.

Delicious caramel in just the right consistency, which flows in soft paths over beautiful masterpiece cakes. It looks almost completely random, but in reality it requires mastery of the craft! This is one of the tasks for the six baking competition participants who are now back in the tent. And then they get to know the two French caramel classics 'tarte tatin' and 'créme caramel'. It will be both a little too burnt, a little too soft and a delicate experience for the judges.

Tiramisu - another inescapable Italian - needs to be reinterpreted in the masterpiece challenge. With respect for the classic flavors. The now only four participants will follow van Gogh in the flower beds when his "Sunflowers" will be transformed from a world-famous oil painting into a beautiful and delicious masterpiece cake. Markus Grigo has designed the semi-final's elegant secret challenge. And to get to the finish line, it requires, among other things, a good grip on a special German cheese slicer! Now it's finally time for a decision in this year's season of The Great Baking Contest! And the three finalists will have to try their hand at both mirror-shiny glace cakes - with top aesthetics - and beautiful, sculptural pear desserts a la Markus Grigo. The participants are very close before the very last challenge starts: finale masterpieces, which are inspired by the surroundings the three have been in for nine weeks, namely Clausholm castle park.

This year's 10 participants have jumped in pairs in Christmas sweaters, Santa hats - and even Indian party clothes - to compete for crispy Christmas cookies, filled chocolates and the most beautiful macaron Christmas trees. They must use all their talents for the masterpiece when they create modern Christmas desserts that could compete with the traditional rice salamander. And they don't just have to impress judges Katrine and Markus. The Christmas marquee will be visited by an internationally recognized dessert chef with up to several Michelin restaurants on his CV! The top three pairs go on to the New Year's program.

And then the three couples must choose their favorite cocktail, and interpret the drink's flavors and appearance in the ultimate masterpiece cake for the New Year's bang of a party. All the participants will impress Markus and Katrine with lots of difficult technique, delicious flavors and aesthetic design. It will not be easy for the judges to find the winners of this year's Christmas and New Year baking competition.
